Seems fishy. But let's talk hypothetically. In some PETA activists' minds, domesticated animals are essentially prisoners held without sympathy by their owners. In some demented way, these people think it's better to put a pet "out of its misery" rather than allow it to "suffer" unjustly within the confines of a human's home or land.

There may be merit to this article.

I agree with Aught Six. These PETA Geeks are one of a kind next to the Tofoo Lettuce Eatin Veggie Geeks. I have done some verbal jousting with PETA and Veggie Nerds on their resepective web sites over the years. There is simply no way to reason with these people. They are misinformed and out of touch with reality.
