Default A pistol the police will need to worry about?

What do you all think? Supposedly this will fit in your pants pocket and they can not keep them on the shelves of gun shops even though they are selling for over $1,000 each!!! Here is a quote from part of this article http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg18-e.htm :
Quote:
The Five-seveN is advertised as being capable to penetrate standart PAGST vest at 300 meters and standart CRISAT (kevlar + titanium) vest at 100 meters.

The AP ammo is restricted and not for sale to civilians. Standard HP is available, though. Still won't go through a vest.

Unfortunately wether or not it can penetrate a vest is of less importance than ya might think. My old partner was murdered during a traffic stop almost 2 years agod. the round went right through the exposed area at the armpit. Bout the only good thing was that Rod got the bad guy too.

In my opinion, and I have faces more armed criminals than I care to recall, training and threat awareness is going to save more officers lives than armor.

Now All that being said you may try to let a local cop know about it if he already doesnt so that they can pass the word to each other. I'm going to forward the link to the Sgt. so hea can let the guys and gals know at muster.

Thanks for the heads up.

Good idea Phoenix, I was telling the guy who told me about this that I doubted if the ammo would be legal in the US, but criminals will get it any how whcih is the scary part for LEO's.

The only firearm a cop needs to worry about is the one pointed at him. Other than that, there is no threat.

If I recall right this FN pistol and ammo are now downgraded by the ATF to not include armor piercing capabilities. See attached fight the hype!

Dang, the first thing I thought about when I saw the title of the thread was the Five Seven.

If there's anything that makes antis sh!t their drawers faster than a .50 BMG it would be a hypervelocity pistol. The ballistics aren't really that much different than a .22 magnum or a .17 HMR pistol. The AP stuff won't be available to civillians, as AP pistol ammo has been banned for a decade already.

I'd like to shoot one and see how well they work. Lately, I've noticed the anti's are trying to drive a wedge between LE and gunowners. Same old tired tactics that obviously haven't worked.

That has been going on for years.

The most virulent form of this is always found in bigger cities where gang problems and stupid people just tend to be rampant.

That gun can't hurt a fly. Unless a bad guy is attached to it.
