Wonder if it is mostly for show or if they are really doing something about it-the Germans and French both made Billions when the food for oil program was in full force in Iraq. Germany made and continues to make billions shipping technology to Iran and Syria. Doubt whether it is anything more than posturing to 'look' like they are doing something.

I think they have two motivations. First off, the citizens are tired of whackos holing up in their cities, recruiting terrorists, and generally offending their western sensabilities. I'd be a little bit uncomfortable myself if the next door neighbors were preparing for jihad.
Second, Bush won. I don't think they're willing to gamble with the president.

True, regarding Germany and France .... but then again how many countries have we armed only to have to go back there a couple decades later and declare war?
