Default Do you believe this???

I imagine for some it is a problem but in MHO it is all a state of mind

Dr. Cliff Arnall:
Is the midwinter weather wearing you down? Are you sinking in debt after the holidays? Angry with yourself for already breaking your New Year's resolutions? Wish you could crawl back under the covers and not have to face another day of rain, sleet, snow and paperwork? Probably. After all, it's Jan. 24, the "most depressing day of the year," according to a U.K. psychologist.

After a couple of days of people stuck in their homes due to the heavy snows in some areas the cabin fever may strike as it has been know to happen.

Well, I'm not quite ready to call this a constant, but someone with underlying depression can certainly start to go off the deep end around now. Personally, I don't start to really get tired of the cold and the dark until mid-February.

Im depressed for other reasons. I spent most of this hunting season sweating. I like winter to get cold. It has been in the 70s lately. I went out hog hunting last night to only come home early. It was too hot for the hogs to move.[:@]

I break the winter up with a trip to Ft Myers Beach every year. Spend an extended week or so there and enjoy the extra sunshine and warmth.
Now this Dr is from the UK and they have even less sunny days than us here in WI. I'd guess that doesn't help matters much at all.
Once my lovely wife Anna retires we want to head southwest for a few months in the mid winter to escape the grips of the cold and snow. Everything in moderation.

It was actually a great day for me. My manager told me that although I have great engineering skills, they need me in management....

So now i'm a project manager.......

OH wait, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings, meetings,

Maybe he's right.

Logs, as long as you're in that area, drive to Sanibel Island.. the most gorgeous place i've been in years.

The weather is great, you get fried to a crisp and don't even know it cause of the great breeze.

Then head off to the S. end of the Island to the only "real" bar they have there. The bartender is from Minnesota and loves midwesterners. Me and the bro got absolutely gassed there.

Another good place (although also a restaurant) is the Pelican. Very reasonable.

Charlie or one of the storms hit Sanibel and Captiva pretty hard.
Anna and I stop in at the Mucky Duck on Captiva for lunch and some Key Lime Pie. This year because of the construction traffic going over the toll bridge was always a pain being all backed up.
The Mucky Duck is also a good place to get a Lager. Despite what the our resident loon nut case has to say, I don't drink much but I do enjoy a good Amber or Dark Lager with my meal or on a hot day.
There are a couple of places on Sanibel to rent bicycles and believe it or not there is something like 30 miles of bicycle trail on Sanibel. Hit all those miles a couple of times now.
One of the retired Det. Lt who worked for me has a place on Pine Island. He has a fishing boat and a sailboat.
The only thing we lack when we're down there is enough time to enjoy everything.
