I posted this in the feedback forum, but got none. It was suggested by another user that I post it to a forum with greater traffic, so here goes.
As a new member here, I was visiting the swap hunt area. I noticed several listings that weren"t swapping anything, but rather WARNING people of potential scam swaps. As I hadn"t seen any of that information in the feed back forum, I thought I would copy/paste the info so other users would have a chance to see.
When I went to the swap hunt section a few days ago to do this, I noticed that all the negative informational type listings had been removed. Now as I said, I am new to this board, but I find it interesting that the moderators would hide ALL negative feedback.
So as not to be accused of just venting, there were several listings warning people about elk4life, but now they have all been removed.
I noticed a message from bnhcomputing stating that he found no negative information on this board, well, looks to me like the moderators are in on the scams and removing the negative info.

I can assure, that no moderators are in on any "hunting scams." There's nothing in it for us...
As for the negative feedback, head into the feedback room and post about elk4life. But only if you can prove something, or have had a personal negative experience with the person. Otherwise...let it lay, if it's a big enough deal, whoever has been ripped off will post a warning about it.

My question was more related to the "WHY" the listings had been remmoved from the swap hunt section. Yes, I understand that these should have gone in the feedback section, but some of your members are apparently not that smart, or thought it was better to list complaints in the same section as the add, that does make sense.
As for elk4life, I was just pointing out that there WAS negative feedback listed there, and now it has been removed. I would respectfully suggest to all members, that SWAP HUNTS be avoided until the organizers of this board come to a consensus as to how they are going to proceed.
I have no personal knowledge on way or the other.

Swap hunts should soley be for members wishing to trade hunts with another member.......as hunter A wishes to hunt with hunter B and vice versa. I guess I need to venture into the feedback forum and swap hunt forum to see whats up.

My question then is, if two people do decide to swap and, as in bnh's case, only one guy lives up to it, then what? How do you guys get the word out to each other that there are problems?
Now I'm not singling out elk4life, there were others listed there as well, but now they've all been removed, and that's the only one I remember. Where did this negative information go? It is obvious that most of your users don't use the feedback section, as another user suggested I place this thread on a more traveled area.
On a different note, wouldn't swap hunting be illeagal? If I buy a hunt from an outfitter, he pays taxes and the like, but if we swap, not tax. I'd bet the IRS would be very interested in this.

When you do buisness by bartering(sp) you must determine how much the service is worth and declare it as income on your taxes.

You must have missed the threads that were going on discussing what happened.

My apologies. Yes, I missed the threads discusing it, being new here, I wasn't imediately aware that I should search all forums going back at least one year and read thousands of posts before deciding if somthing listed in the swap hunts is worth the effort. From my part, it isn't. I wouldn't swap with anybody listed there unless they were a profesional buisiness, and as Cougar pointed out, that isn't what the swap area is for.
Just to much trouble for my taste.
