It's been a while since I checked out democrats.com, but it looks like the status quo is going to remain for a long time.
Their newest cause is to choose a DNC chairman with a "backbone". According to the online poll, over 70% of respondents think Dean is the man for the job.
that's a loaded question, and i could probably go on for days. it could also generate tons of responses, which could overload me. nevertheless, here we go. by way of example:
we are for economic policies that grow the american economy. on a state level, I have been deeply involved in working on and arranging grants/tax credits for business, so long as those benefits result in the creation of family sustaining jobs and a stronger tax base.
we are for the protection of civil liberties, for all americans...not just the majority.
we are against government intrusion into the people's private lives, except where necessary to protect the rights of others (eg minors).
we are in favor of reasonable REGULATION of the purchase and sale of fire-arms, but against any limitation on an individual's constitutional right to bear arms (I don't want to start another thread here...in my opinion, the laws that are currently on the books are pretty much sufficient for my purposes, and the AWB was an abomination)
we are in favor of a strong defense, but believe defense dollars should be spent strategically.
we believe america should be a leading force in the international community, but wherever possible, should seek consensus before acting unilaterally.
we believe terrorism is a threat to the fundamental fabric of all western democracies, and should be rooted out at the core, and crushed. at the same time however, the situations that breed terrorism need to be dealt with, to ensure we're not growing another generation of terrorists.
Uhhh boysda, based on your response above, are you absolutely positive you're "centrist Democrat?" I mean really, really sure? Cause you sound a lot more like a moderate to conservative Republican.

Cal he sounds more like what I call a Dixiecrat, in the south there are an awful lot of democrats on the state and local level that are far more conservative then most western and northern republicans.
