Default Did I hear this right?

I was watching the ole TV this morning, and an add for a well known dish detergent was on. Admittedly I was only half watching, so I may be wrong here. I am not sure I should say the name, maybe I can, I don't know, but it means "morning". Anyway, I thought I heard them say they would contribute X amount of dollars to some anti hunting group.....Anyone else hear that?

Is this the commercial that show the animals being washed in detergent after getting oil slicked and than the duck flying over the marsh at the end? I don't remember them saying that in the commercial but
1) I only see these things in the morning and my TV is being dominated by my young child and she watches PBS cartoons mostly

2) I zone out commericals mostly. I mean, I see them but I don't hear them.

I'll try to keep an eye out for them tonight if I watch some TV.

Is this what you are talking about, I found this on the Dawn website:

http://www.homemadesimple.com/saveaduck/

Not sure about the organization, but it looks more to save animals involved in oil spills rather than a non-hunting agenda.

There was an article in the Anchorage Daily News about 2 weeks ago http://www.adn.com/outdoors/story/59...-5855248c.html about the birds that had supposedly been rescued by this means. It turns out that the average life expectancy of the fowl that were finally released after being cleansed is 9.3 days. There is even a company in California that makes a pretty good profit by going to these areas and cleaning the water fowl and for what? A feel good program that causes more pain and suffering than it alleviates and in the long run for a life expectancy that averages 9.3 days after treatment.

If the critters die anyway then what's the point of "rescuing" them ? Seems like a waste of time . Kinda reminds me of that story about some do gooder folks who "rescued" some seal in distress only to watch it get eaten by a killer whale seconds after they released it .

Well, I am relieved. Seems I did hear it wrong, glad I looked into it before throwing out all my dishsoap. The stuff just works too good. Thanks guys.

One thing I've never understood is people saying that there going to throw out stuff they already bought or break stuff as a protest, your not hurting the companyor artist because you already bought it.

One example is the Dixie Chicks after they put down Bush I heard alot of people saying they were going to break their CD's like it was going to hurt the group Etc. Why you already payed for it and they have your money?
