This was on CNN this morning. I agree with most of what was said, that this was in poor taste to say the least.

However, the following comment by Janner really go me going

Greville Janner, a former Labour MP and one-time president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, said the prince's action was "totally wrong and totally inappropriate".

"Britain stood alone against the Nazis and to dress as a Nazi was just youthful stupidity," Janner said. "I think he should be disciplined. He should understand what he has done and why it is so offensive."

Britain stood alone?? Why then are there so many American graves in France?

he was more than likely referring to Europe only, not the rest of the allies. an inconsiderate comment, but not the end of the world.

i find it strange to refer to the russian front as a distraction.

fighting on 2 fronts was absolutely necessary for the allies to be victorious.

England did stand alone basically against Germany.

From about 1940 until June 22nd 1941 when Hitler attacked Russia who up until that time was basically an ally of Germany.

On December 8th 1941 the US and England declared war on ***an!

On December 11th 1941 Germany declared war on the US!!!

I am not in the least discounting what our men did for all of Europe during WWII, my dad started that war in No. Africa and came home from Berlin, but I can tell you right now if England had been a bunch of chickens like France and the rest of Europe we may be living in a whole different world today, England by standing alone for as long as she did made the Allies job a lot easier than what it would have been if they had rolled over and played dead!

My bioligal farther flew as a tail gunner in a halifax( for canada) bomber- many raids over germany, france etc - out of england.Alone? not even before the alies came-

Sept 10, 1939 Canada declared war on Gemany, this was 5 days after the US declared its neutrality!

I will agree that there was at one point in time more then England against Germany before the US entered the war against Germany, but the only one worth much more then a hill of beans before us was Canada and they were a mole hill.
