Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default 6 To 8 billion and counting

How much aid is needed for such a poor nation as Somalia.Their labor is a fraction of ours so cleanup should be a fraction of what it would be here.ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.Now there are more fundraisers planned.Somebody is getting very, very rich off this disaster.

I do not know how much aid is needed do you ? How amny millions displaced ? How many hundreds of thousands died ? what percentage needs help in rebuilding and which needs left to the countries to do themselves I don't know. AS with any large fund raising efforts there is the chance of someone taking advantage. That people are "getting rich" is overdramatization.

Somalia's GDP is probably nowhere near that figure ,
yeah , somebody's making a buck there .

BTW , since Somalia is in a constant state of emergency , famine , and war wouldn't it just be more productive to liquidate them as a country and start over from scratch ? It seems like it would be less expensive in the long run .

Sam Kinison said it best:
Don't send them food , send them U-Haul trailers . That way they can move TO WHERE THE FOOD IS ! See this ? This is sand ! Nothing grows in it ! Do you know why ? Because you live in a f*****g desert a**hole !

fundraisers solicit donations from private citizens and corporations, not tax dollars.

who are you to complain about how i choose to spend my money?

i donated money to UNICEF, and i feel it was money well spent. i earned that money, and i chose to send it overseas.

What percentage of UNICEF money is used for admistrative costs?

I was watching a show the other day and they said 98% of the money was getting to the people, can't remeber the charity.

this is what i found...

88.5% of the money goes directly to the people....3.4% is used for administrative expenses...and 8.1% is used for fundraising purposes....
