Default .50 CAL Rifle Ban

If the feds don't ban them, the states will. Look out guys, they're still trying to get the guns, and they just might be able to do it one state at a time.

60 Minutes had the story. If they would bring the price down a bit, I wouldn't mind having one for plinking with.

Ya i wouldnt mind one myself( there was a used one in the local paper, came with much brass& reloading dies, bullets etc) was still a lot-expensive to shot too[].

A terriosts tool? Ya right- so is a gallon of gas.

The .50-caliber rifle, one of the world"s best combat weapons, was invented 22 years ago in Murfreesboro, Tenn., by Ronnie Barrett.

The above statement is kinda deciving-The 50.cal was invented long before that - thats just when it became more avalable in a more practical( legal) package for the civilian market.

And if law abiding Americans cant be trusted with that- what else?

Rat poison can kill you too , should we ban that ?
How about lack of oxygen ? Car crashes ?

I don't personally have a use for one , or anywhere safe to shoot it , but that doesn't mean that someday I won't want one . Why would I want one ? Because I can and I'm responsible enough to handle it safely . That should be all the reason I need .

We got one bnh...and I ain't talking muzzleloader either.

They're trying to develop a .499 caliber rifle...so once the 50's are illegal...you can just own one of them.

The one we got kicks like a dadgum mule though. The Barrett we borrowed for awhile was much, easier on the ol shoulder.

I would challenge them to name one person that was killed on the streets with a 50 cal.

Just like the K4's, the "cop killer bullets" -- not one cop was ever shot with one.

I hear ya - they like to twist the truths dont they.

I thought cops where made much like every other human out there? They dont come with protective shells when born ?

Maybe what they mean is some bullets can penatrate a ballistic vest ?
And that means you better ban about every hunting rifle out there by that logic!

Seen plenty of gun grabing whiney liberals right here on thses boards-dont have to go to california or anywhere like it to find im sad to say.

Nice rifle Froman like that style - keeps those long barreled rifles a lill shorter.

"(CBS) California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (Republican) decided there"s a weapon that"s too dangerous to be in the hands of private citizens."(60 minutes)

I guess Arnold represents the "they" referred to in the above quote.
He doesn't seem to represent the people who voted for him . Next he'll decide that being fat is too dangerous for Kalifornicators and mandate excercise programs for everybody . For a guy who allegedly believes wholeheartedly in the American dream he's sure choosy bout which parts .

Fro , they'll just ban the . 499 next .
It's all or nothing , they choose nothing . The first steps to a totalitarian regime are:
1) Control the Media .
2) Disarm the populace .

I'd prefer is they went after the real terrorist guns like the 30-30. 4 cops have been killed by these armor defeating rifles in the last 20 years. I wish Teddy K and john K would keep pushing the ban on this true weapon of evil instead
