I am sick of hearing about the tsunami and it's victims. They will be built up better than they ever could have done by themselves. When 9/11 happened,I didn't see any money pour in from other nations to help us.I had a car accident in 1999 and lost my house and job,but nobody came and helped me out.I get a whole $850 a month on SS disability after losing a 30,000 a year job.Charity begins at home and Bush had better get off his ass and help Americans before he sends our money overseas to other countries. With all the money sent, the govt. should be able to lower our taxes so we can raise our standard of living.

Very sorry to hear that man. I sort of know what you're going through, contrary to popular belief, this economy is not doing well (aside from the bogus "leading indicator factors") and I fear it will get worse.
I have been put out when money that I have to pay for taxes goes overseas when it could be used to help Americans.I lost a house.Let the govt. give me money to get a new house like my old one. That won't happen. The govt. has all this money to throw around, they could throw a bit my way.Ask the people who are waiting to get Social Security how great it is that we are sending all this money overseas.Ask the elderly eating cat food how they feel about the money going overseas.Go talk to a guy that has been out of work and can't find a job,and ask their opinion of the money going overseas. That is where charity should start.
Good points. But frankly, while the elderly get Social Security, many of us and our children will not as the system is structured now. My view is that the elderly had their whole working lives to save money, as all do. I am sick of the automatic association of elderly with POOR, when in fact they are the wealthiest segment of society. They are much better off than younger workers today who will have to pay their own bills, as well as those of our elderly via debt. I agree that the US should be our first priority rather than other nations, but the big loser here is the young and unborn, and that should NOT be acceptable.

You hit the crux of why Bush's economic policies are a total failure. He is trying to mimic the success of the Reagan supply side economic theories, but what the idiot doesn't realize is that tax cuts for the wealthy in order to stimulate job growth only work when the jobs created stay at home.
And so you sit and wonder who is in charge..... Corporate america is.
We need MASSIVE and permanent tax cuts, not the piddily upper middle income and upper income cuts that bush put in place.
but the big loser here is the young and unborn, and that should NOT be acceptable.
To an extent, but remember, you can't miss what you didn't have. I think the middle aged people (40+) are the ones that are really going to take it in the backside.
I believe that everything that they've saved is going to go up in smoke due the hand waving being done with our fiat money. The debt will get paid off, at the price of massive inflation.
The elderly did have a chance to save, but they put into Social Security for alot of years and now it is time for the govt. to pay up.I would have rather started my own retirement when I worked than pay into Social Security. We have to get rid of all the govt. jobs that we pay for the health and retirement for.In Buffalo, the legislators just increased sales tax to %9.25 and raised county property taxes. They also voted themselves a %10 raise.Total crap.
