Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Montana Governor Trying to Stop Bison Hunt

Anyone hear about this? Montana is going to draw tomorrow for a late-announced bison hunt - 10 tags for Jan to Feb for areas near Yellowstone to try to drive the brucellosis (sp?) buffaloes away from ranches.

Decision to allow the "hunt" (shoot?) was made in December, but the two-day inaugurated Gov says it would be a public relations nightmare and is trying to stop it.

At first I was angered at this anti-hunting move, but after sleeping on it, I'm not sure that the Gov is anti-hunting. Is the bad publicity worth it? - it gives the anti's fuel to sway the neutrals. Some of the shooting will be easily accessible - I had two of them staring at me from 40 yds me when I was loading my sons' elk into the pickup last January. It will be very easy to make this "hunt" (shoot) look worse on news video than it is.

Here is the entire article [link]http://www.helenair.com/articles/2005/01/06/montana/a07010605_01.txt[/link]

I really haven't been paying attention to the news the past few days so I can really comment on it. But by reading the article I can somewhat see his side.

Its easy to make most anything look bad if thats your objective.Icluding ALL hunting anywhere with any weapon& species.
So no i dont understand the poltical correct move to apease all. Is the main motive for the gov that bad pr& that may then give them a black eye& possibly less tourist dollars?
I bet a lot is spent on hunting& by hunters there & i bet theres plenty of ppl who dont like it(hunting period & could make it all look bad with a few images& words,
Ppl are very influnced py pictures etc.(read gullable& easy to sway)

I think most tend to believe what they want too& if there a small push/step from being a peta wacko that these things could effect them - then they didnt have all there marbles to begin with.
