Enlight of the recent events, how many Hmong hunters will be killed this year. If these people are as bad about tresspassing as some have said they are, and I have no reason to doubt it, then you have to admit you would be a little quicker on the draw than normal when running one of them off. I will be perfectly honest, it wouldn't be be wise for one of these people to make any type of threatening action towards me if I caught them tresspassing because I would be shooting first and asking questions later. I personally would rather be tried by twelve than carried by six. This understandably has to have people's nerves on end so do you will think there will be any related deaths this upcoming season.

as stated even the
honestly, im not attacking anyone, but y has this deerhunting forum gotten all about hmong killers. i was actually hunting near where this happened and was out hunting when it did happen. there are more accidental killings by like 40x then there are murders in the woods. how about we concentrate on those rather then concentrating on ethnicities and stereotpyes. if you run into someone who isnt supposed to be on your property, just call the cops, no shooting required.
lets just get out there and hunt rather then worry about this stuff.
Hopefully none, there has been enough loss of human life in the woods already. The killing should end with this criminal frying in the chair.
maybe im not up to date on this case, but i dont think he can be put todeath can he? wisconsin doesnt have the death penalty and i dont believe national crimes have death penalties either. maybe im wrong
Kinda sad, No REAL sad, that it is becomming that dangerous to EVEN go hunting. MY prayers to ALL the families involved in that tragic situation.
However, for that last 15 yrs. I have ALWAYS carried a side arm with me, when/where ever I hunt. God forbid I ever have to shoot another human being. BBBUUUTTTT, I have a very high level of survival for myself/friends & definitly my family. I pity that SOB that even points a gun @ me in a threating manner!!! enough said>>>>>>>>>>
silentassassin, I agree with you. as long as I have properly posted my land, if someone comes on my property they know they are trespassing (breaking the law) and either intend to do me or my family bodily harm or are there to steal or damage my property. I have only owned my land two years now and have run into punk trespassers 5 times. I have been nice so far, but no more! Either buy your own land, use core land or learn to dodge bullets. I will still be nice and give a warning shot.
That may very well have been the cause of this to begin with.
I have property in WI. Any time I see any hunter I don"™t recognize, I get the binocs on him ASAP. If he doesn"™t belong there, I approach with safe muzzle control, and the safety on, but I hold my rifle in such a way, that if the individual starts demonstrating poor muzzle control, I can react quickly. I will take down as much information as possible, starting with a good description of the individual and a back tag number if possible. I carry pencil, paper, and one of those throw away cameras in my daypack so I can take pictures if I harvest an animal. I will use it to take pictures of the trespasser or what ever other evidence there is.
Having said that, it is up to the police to enforce the law. If I determine he is a trespasser, I will call 911.
911: What is your emergency?
Me: My name is XXXXXX; my address is XXXXX. I have a trespasser, with a weapon on my property. Please send the police immediately.
At this point, they will either dispatch an officer right away, or they will tell me that this isn"™t a REAL emergency.
If they try to tell me this isn"™t a lights and sirens emergency"¦
Me: Remember the 2004 incident? This is being recorded, right? Are you refusing to send an officer to apprehend an armed criminal?
I am not a lawyer, but at this point, I think I would have covered my self pretty well. I asked law enforcement for help. If they refuse, it"™s on tape and I will apprehend the criminal dead or alive. If the officers do come, then they can deal with it.
I would hope WI law enforcement would see the need to have extra officers during the hunting season.
