Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Maybe there's hope.....

This story on CNN is what America needs. If we had more judges like this one, the welfare roles would be gone.

Just wish this was happening nation wide.

Two words: solitary confinement.

Personally, I don't believe the judge's order is Constitutional. There are definitely some Fourth Amendment issues involved here.

The state wants to have it both ways. They want to support kids whose parents can't do it themselves, yet they want to slam the door shut once the number gets too high. If they don't want to take in to the woman's kids, then they need to abolish welfare altogether. There is no pick and choose when it comes to the general population's welfare. Either you do it all, or you don't.

Whatever happened to personal responsibility? If you didn't take care of your kids, they died, and you went to prison for murder. I'm tired of paying taxes for these morons' lack of responsibility.

If they can't or refuse to take care of their kids, they should not be allowed to be parents. Children should not have to suffer or die just because they have morons for parents.

Parenting is a right, not a priviledge. That darned Fourth Amendment again.

The state shouldn't have to do the parenting for morons. Rights and responsibilities, my friend. I am not my brother's keeper.

Who will take care of these kids who can't take care of themselves? Obviously the parents aren't doing the job? I keep hearing on this board that we (the U.S) need to take care of our own (domestic) problems first. Well, child abuse and neglect is a very large problem. Have any suggestions?

Private charities. Welfare is for socialists.

IF our society was truly on the right course. The courts would mind their own business and the woman would be beaten by her neighbors.
There was a time when someone like that would starve to death.

Now you see the results of the deterioration of the family unit. The American Family Council is fighting to prevent this -- but in our PC do as you feel world right now, you are no longer shunned for being a dope head slut,, in fact you're "downtrodden and misunderstood" and need lots and lots of taxpayer money.

They did the same thing to a guy a couple of years ago in wisconsin who was running around knocking up women. He just moved.

Right, private charities like Aught Six said, and churches, too. We have a Social Concerns Board at our church, of which I'm a member, and we help all kinds of people...even a couple sick cases like this. We have one gal very much like the one in this story. She even let a "boyfriend" rape her daughter who was in 5th grade at the time. Then the mother of this poor girl had that guys baby and that baby is all deformed and sickly. Every woman on the committee wonders why "they" (the power that be) don't just tie the stupid woman's tubes already. The kids pay the price and it's despicable.

Just for the record, we don't help for the mother, we help for those poor kids. The church is giving the little girl who was raped an education at our school, as well as counseling and under the circumstances, she's doing much better now. Sad thing is, there is no power to get her and the other kids away from that beast of a mother.
