Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

well, that doesnt surprise me, but i will say this. the guy had no right being in the woods that he doesnt own. was he there by mistake?? maybe...maybe not. now, for the part where u guys rip me apart

i am archery only because of the role that guns play and this is a prime case. i am not against guns, heck, i thought of trying muzzle for a few seasons now. in this case he claims that once approached by the owners of the property that they used racial slurs and such. thats not a good thing, but by no means a reason to kill people over. he claims that he shot in self defense because they shot first?? ok, here is where is gets a little crazy. if this is the case and they fired at him, what do u think he should have done??? what would you have done??? i cant imagine him killing that many people and they were firing at him, but those are his claims. if the defense can prove some of those facts...it could be an interesting trial.

Here's my take.

Reports state there was only one person out of the group with a gun. If in fact he did shoot at Vang first and Vang returned fire out of self defense,ok. But to purposefully hunt the others down and shoot them kind of puts a leak in his story. What was the motive behind that? To get rid of the witnesses. Thats my theory.

He had no right to tresspass on their property. Saying he was lost all went south when he climbed up in the treestand in my mind. Has anyone here ever been lost in unfamilier woods? The last thing you want to do is climb up in a stand you happen to come along. You want to get unlost.

Vang admitted to hunting the others down and shooting them. One he shot in the back while attempting to escape. Self defense? I don't think so. Supposedly, Vang and his buddies from Minniapolis have had a history of this sort of thing, though, not to this extreme. Until now. Sadly, we lost a handful of fellow hunters.

Of course no one will ever know what really happened. I say fry him.

because of the role that guns play .

COME ON this had nothing at all to do with guns being at blame this was a deranged person who went crazy and shot a bunch of people flat out and nothing else. this guy had military background and new what he was doing. why do you think he took the scope off as he was walking from the stand? it was so he could shoot open sites and mow people down. there is no excuse or defense to it. who cares if they shouted racial slures. didnt we learn in kindergarten to ignore people when they call us names. this guy deserves to suffer not just fry. its idiots like this that hurt our sport and its not the guns fault hell if i wanted to and was crazy i could take my car and run it into a crowd of people but does that mean cars should be banned. this guy will get whats coming to him and my thoughts and prayers are with the people who lost their lives over this and i hope this doesnt cause a backlash affect and get those peta humping politicians going on and on about stopping hunting.

Should have capped this scum before he left the woods. If guns were the blame, I guess I can blame my pencil everytime I miss spell a word. Right! Wake up[:@]

I think you guys took the gun thing wrong. IMO the posters does not want to put himself in the position where an argment with armed people could present itself. I could be wrong but that is my take on his statement.

Which is essentially saying that it is not surprising...one of the points that I presented under heavy fire for about 2 or 3 pages on a previous Vang thread.

Whitetail hunting and certain other types of hunting cause ordinarily nice people to become territorial over their stand, or their "spot." Add firearms, racial slurs, and a guy like Vang to the mix...
