I hate to see the courts are saying no Christian aspect to christmas displays on public lands. I hate it because I am a Christian.
If I were an athiest or agnostic or muslem or of any other belief I don't think I would be offended by nativity displays (even though being offended seems to be the fad of the last decade or so) on public property.
I don't find myself offended at seeing a Manorah.<sp>I have to admit though I don't like seeing the Cresent and Star.
However I am more than willing to give up Christian christmas displays if that is what it takes to make sure I don't see any muslim displays of any sort.
I am willing to support the removal of any displays of any religion if that is what it takes.
I know this isn't politicly corrct to say but I don't think muslims work and play well with others and the rest of the time they don't work and play well with each other. All a person has to do is look at world events and the reports of terrorism or to look at countries where a fundamentalist muslim goverment is in place.
If separtion of church and state as the courts have been interpeting it lately is the cost of limiting the muslims along with everyone else, then so be it.
The churchs will still be there and the mosques will still be there and anyone who wishs to learn at them can, but atleast I won't see the star and cresent on public property.
Tazman I know the last time we discussed the muslim faith on this forum you made the point that most muslims are good people, I don't disput that there are lots and lots of fine folks of the muslim faith but I know there are enough of them that aren't good people that I don't want to see thier beliefs promoted in any way shape or form much less on public property.
Thanks
Mr-Pirk

you know it my mizzy but the one thing i disagree on is that i think they should keep religous things off public property and out of schools because there are realy nothing promoting other religions in public so some people get offended by it but not me i'm atheist so you guys work it out between your selves
Big Bass I agree with your post. I can remember when I was in the fourth grade we had a group from a local church come in and give out little New Testament bibles, at the time I thought it was neat. Now days I think about how I would feel if a group came in giving away Korans.
Thanks

What is amazing is that so called Christians are more concerned about public displays, and symbols than actually being salt and light. The fact that the Word of God is disrespected, and shunned is quite normal, yet thanks to the likes of fools like Pat Robertson, James Dobson, Falwell, and Chuck Colson, millions of Christians make jackasses of themselves as they bicker, squabble, and petition the world , with the hopes that the world will allow them to place Godly symbols, on godless buildings, statues, and back drops.
I would love to have some "offended" person sit down and watch "A Charlie Brown Christmas". I'd like to see how they react to Linus's quoting of Luke Chap 2:8 on that school stage, where he gives the true meaning of Christmas.
BTW, Shrewman.... Dr. James Dobson shouldn't be lumped in with the likes of Pat Roberson, Jerry Falwell, et al. Dr. Dobson is a licensed practicing Pediatrician, who happens to be Christian and holds strong beliefs in family values.

He preaches a Nationalized Gospel, just like the others.
Shrewman I think I understand what you are saying.
Big Bass what I see is that with fundamentalist Hebrew is that we wind up with isolationism.
With fundmentalist Christianty we wind up with treating others as you wish to be treated.
With fundamentalist muslims we find anyone who has paid any tax's to any country that in any way has acted against what fundmentalist muslim beliefs is a legal target for the worst treatment.
The good that may be done by allowing a public platform for one isn't worth the harm caused by the other.
To me it strikes me as throwing the baby out with the bath water but with the way our law is written I see no other course.
I know this isn't PC but all beliefs are not equal in thier benefit to the fellow man, but our constitution says they have to be treated as such.
Thanks

persons are walking billboards.
When a relgions main objective becomes the distruction of the western world & anyone who isnt like themselfs - there could be a serious problem- When there main mission in life- there relgious holy duty is the distruction of America& its ppl - there could be a problem.
Or maybe its all a plot by the" inside group" & there is no threat as some on here claim , non of it is reality & if it is the goverment did it?[&:]

I'm not a Christian, and I'm not offended. Let everyone share a glimpse of their celebrations. Even Muslims. Every religion has its nutjobs, just like every country. Good people should not be silenced on account of others who are evil.
Yes, Christmas is about Christ, but public land belongs to all.
