Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I think it could be beneficial to a kid who actually has two mommies. It could offer perpective. I personaly do not condone homosexuals raising kids, but society doesn't have control over that nor does a kid in that position.

I, myself, do not care what they chose to do in their life.

That's the thing. How many children find themselves in this situation? I'm not gay, a parent, or educated in juvenile psychology, but I'd think a good heart-to-heart talk between parents and child would take care of any questions a kid might have. Why read a piece of fiction when you're living the experience firsthand?

This book was discussed on this board years ago. It was actually required reading within the public elementary schools somewhere in the bowels of Wisconsin as I recall.

I think it was static that posted that thread.

Mama Jane is a carpenter. Heather likes to look in her toolbox. She has nails and screws and a long yellow tape measure. Mama Jane has two hammers: a big one for herself and a little one for Heather. Mama Jane and Heather are building a table together.
Mama Jane also has another hammer that Heather doesn't know about- she wears it with her toolbelt to nail and screw Mama Kate while Heather is sleeping or at school.
