Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Honor, Aliases, Name calling, etc.

Hey y'all!!!!!! Looks like the annual HuntingPolitics Meltdown is finally starting again. Usually it waits until a little later in the winter to start but whatever!!

I was "Country Boy" for a long time but my password or whatever isn't working anymore. can't log on under that username. So I recently started using "StalkingFanatic".

Honor. It's earned, not awarded.

I have been around from way back before the "new" board. Some oldtimers here know what HONOR is. Calhunter comes to mind... as does Christine.... #1GameWarden.... and many others. They are the people that stand up for what they believe, and are not scared to voice their opinions. Yet they keep it civil.

Look at some of Calhunter's latest posts. They are refreshing to read. Good arguments (NOT argumentive... big difference!!) backed up by facts and presented in a very compelling way. This is how it was back in the "glory days" of the Political Board. Two or more people could get into discussions without namecalling and petty boo-hooing that I'm seeing from some in this board now. After a good knockdown, dragout fight they could get up and dust themselves off, shake hands and be on their merry way.

To those that have multiple screennames. Posting conflicting arguments using different screennames undermines credibility because it makes you appear as wishy washy as Mr. Bill Clintoon himself.

<cue song> ... you got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything... you got to be your own man, not a puppet on a string... never COMPROMISE WHAT'S RIGHT...

The mods are still doing a good job. It's just that when they signed on, they problably figured that they would be moderating adult level conversations... lately it sounds more like being back in middle school... or elementary.

So Mods, keep up the good work and to one and all.....
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A SUPER DUPER NEW YEAR.

Welcome back and Thank you, methinks I know who you are.....and, yes it is somewhat sad to think of the "old days" when we were all like family. The world is a tougher place now and individuals deal with things on a different level it seems. Most have been thru alot....it just depends on how you weather life I suppose. And/or what if any perspective and attitude you achieve... I have to confess that your post brought tears to my eyes.
Lets not forget Static either when we talk about honor here, he was my mentor and a wonderful person. He is sorely missed IMO.
We are all responsible for our own actions, on our path thru this life. Getting ready to have yet another birthday and close toÂ*50. I only hope that I continue to maintain the positive attitude I have in the face of adversity most of the time. My son who will be six this month not only needs that attitude, he deserves it!

I still feel like many of us are family, just somewhat dysfunctional at times, as we all can be....who am I to judge. There are those that deal with life, and then there are those that do not....then, we have those that never grow up or develop any common sense...sad but true. Go figure.....

Christine....

Thankyou for the kind words SF. I too remember the glory days of HN and it's sad to see the lowered levels of discourse that we routinely see nowadays.

Christine, when's the big 50? Are you doing anything special to celebrate it?

I have a request StalkingFanatic. Could you please mention that you were Country Boy for a while so that I can associate the two? Right now I just cant take anything that a fawn says too seriously because of recent events. Thankyou.

I'm relatively new here. I've been reading since April and posting every now and then so posters here probably don't know me too well. But I think there has always been a core group of posters that know eachother, get along and are generally respectful of one another.

Regarding multiple aliases, I don't get the point.

You know the other thing regarding name calling, insults, etc....

This is just a computer board. You never really know the actions of another person and who they truely are deep down inside.

Perhaps I am way too open and honest about who I am and where I'm from. I mean, anyone who is anyone can easily look me up on switchboard.com and get my name, address, and phone number. Therefore, I don't trash anyone on this board or any other board for that matter. I think you know where I'm heading with this.... I don't need to answer my front door with:

"Excuse me... Are you Butch A. from the Hunting.net BBS?"
"Uh, yes, I am. Are you a member too?"
"Yeah, and I got a score to settle! ....SLAM!!!!"
[&:]

Before you all go call the men in the white suits, or ask me if I see black helicopters circling, or whatever... I am just a normal, working class, average guy. I don't have any issues with anyone on this board. You all are great friends in my book. {aw.... wasn't that nice... group hug!}

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT MY SCREEN NAME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When my "Country Boy" screenname quit working I had requested a new password thingy. THen I couldn't remmeber the password that I had used for my email account that I use just for the Hunting Board... So I couldn't retrieve my new password... I was out working on my car when I suddenly remembered my email account password. I ran in and tried it and accessed my email account. Got a new password sent and here I am!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEEE-HAW!!

gotta run out and finish off the car. was having trouble with the supercharger. Gotta go test it now. LEO's I'll try to keep the rubbber on the tires and off the road.... at least as far as what I can while testing out the supercharger pressures again...

Then I gotta run set up the sound system for our Christmas Caroling tonight. Gonna take the church youth on a hayride and do some caroling (with some NICE amplification) at the same time. Got permission from the town council to "create a public disturbance"!!!!!!!! Yup, we drive around town with a tractor and haywagon singing our hearts ( and lungs) out!!!!

Christine,

We could use some "staticguard" around here again. Might dissipate some of this static around here!

Congrats Country Boy on getting your name back again!

Cal, Just a short two years away...I turn 48 on the 27th. What will I be doing special on my 50th? Getting ready for my son's 8th birthday more than likely, I went into labor with him on my 42nd birthday and had him on the 29th. Whew, but I feel as if I am much, much older sometimes....and have earned every single silver hair on my head of which there are many. LOL

P.S. Yep Country Boy..... I really miss Static![&:] If he is reading I hope that he knows he is very much missed.....
