Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default ESPN radio ad talks about setting land aside.....

for wildlife preserve?

The Humane Society of Us or America has an ad stating if you want your land set aside so hunters/trappers could never use it is on constantly on ESPN radio.

Why would they run it if they also carry hunting shows? And of course I know the answer is the almighty dollar.

Must be a local station's ad. I listen to ESPN radio everyday and have never heard it.

I believe that the Nature Conservancy has similar policies regarding land under thier control. There is a diversity of stipulations that areput on land managed under "conservation easments". Often land is protected under an easment to save it from developement (endangered-rare animals & habitat) The specifics of the language in the easement dictate what type of activities are allowed on the property afterwards. They can include stipulations like limiting all access, (except for emergency situations (fire/flooding etc, allow walking/horse trails, bird-nature observation, hunting, small scale timber harvest and a few other things.

The problems with limiting activities too much can lead to over population problems, which many readers here are aware of. Some of the rules make it difficult for anyone to more than have pity on the starved deer in the overbrowsed land or watch the kudzu smother another 20 acres of forest because of the overly strict management rules.
