Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default BIG BEN fined for PAT TILLMAN

Pittsburgh Steelers new rookie sensation Ben Roethlisberger has been wearing Pat Tillman's # on his shoes since the beginning of the season. For those of you who don't know who PT is, he was an NFL star that decided to retire from football and join the special forces to serve his country. And he died for his country. I realize the NFL has rules and guidelines on dresscodes but they threatened to give "Big Ben" a fine if he does it again. In my personal oppinion, the ENTIRE NFL should be wearing this man's # on their jerseys, the man is a hero and not only gave up millions of dollars but gave his life for this country. No matter if people are for or against the war, he was an American and he deserves what Ben is trying to do.

Has Ben said why he is wearing Tillman's # on his shoes? As a sign of honor or is he trashing Tillman?

Personally, if its against the rules then so be it.

One other thing and please don't take this wrong. Tillman should be honored for his service to the military, but in my opinion he is not better than any other person who died while serving this country. If Pat Tillman had not played in the NFL, nobody would ever have heard of him. What I am trying to say is(probably not so eloquently).............perhaps it would be better to honor all of the military personnel who have died in some way by wearing a patch or other insignia on their uniform.

Whether he knew Tillman or not, maybe Big Ben was simply honoring a fallen player. Watching him speak and seeing him do interviews and such, I find it hard to believe he is "trashing Tillman". After the Steelers beat the Jets last afternoon, several players from both teams took a knee and rmoved the helmets in a circle....looked to me like they were saying a prayer. I don't know for sure, but having "PFJ" on your shoes and taking a knee and listening to him talk it sounds more like he's pretty religious.....not harming anyone.

Since we're talking football....Pittsburgh could have possibly scored another TD....at minimum a FG in the final seconds, but out of curtousy to the opposition they knelt it to finish the game. Maybe they are just saving their energy for the playoffs and trying not to get any unnecessary injuries, but I don't recall seeing that happen much in years past.

you're right jason, he was doing to honor tillman. all of the fallen soldiers deserve rec, but tillman was a special case in my eyes and heart for he gave up millions of dollars and superstar potential to serve his country....................that is truly a hero in my book.
