Tonight, I stand before you with great pride in my ramblings. I post a lot of stuff on this board, but tonight I'm coming from the heart. My son, who is seven, had the opportunity to be one of the speakers at his school "holiday program". Two weeks ago he brought home the program notes, which are essentially a script for the program. As we went through all the lines and songs, he, not me, but he, noticed that christmas wasn't even mentioned in the entire program. Considering all the talk lately about christmas and schools, I was stunned to see it happening right here. My son dicided to add a line at the end of his little speech: "thank you, and merry christmas to all!" He asked me if he could and I said yes. After hearing "happy holiday seasons" all night tonight, my son took the microphone, and he did it, he reminded the audience why we were really all there; christmas. The crowd roared to applause, and after he said merry christmas I looked over at the program directer and she just glared at my boy, she was visibly upset. When I saw her frown I just keep clapping and yelled "outstanding!" I'm damn proud of my boy tonight, and to hell with the libs who want to take christ out of christmas. Tonight it a small thing in the big scheme of things, but it felt great nonetheless. Take care of the minutes, and the hours take care of themselves. Merry Christmas to all of you!
