You know, when I was younger and stupider, the Mrs. and I moved to DC and found an apartment in Dupont Circle. For those of you who have the sanity to stay far, far away from Washington, it's a trendy neighborhood with a large homosexual population.
My dad, having worked for years in Washington, was not happy about it at all. The first thing he said when I told him where we were living was, "There's no problem living around and befriending gays, but whatever you do, don't get into their personal lives. Sooner or later some drunken homo is going to put a steak knife in your back."
I've seen some disturbing situations on COPS during same-sex domestic violence calls, and frankly, I consider myself fortunate I never had to witness anything like that in person.
