Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Christmas still lives in some public schools

Well I went to one of the twins concerts last night, it was great! Here are a few of the musical pieces they did:

Jingle Bells
Christmas Sampler
Rudolph/Holly Jolly Christmas Medley
Christmastide
Santa Plays the Viola

The principal and the Ochestra leader both wished every one a happy holidays and a merry Christmas!!!

Public schools are what the public makes them, apathetic people allow God and Christ to be removed from public schools, people who care will get out and vote and let politicians and school boards know how they want the public schools run, this is why God and Christ still remain in the Fredericksburg public schools system, we vote and let the politicians and school boards know what we want.

That's great, Taz!

I remember all the Christmas concerts that my daughters played in. Last year (as seniors), I remember them in the flute choir (that they and others put together, outside of band). All the girls performed "Carol of the Bells" all on flutes. It was amazing! Then my girls played jazzy tunes "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow", etc.... in jazz band, then did beautiful traditional Christmas tunes in concert band, (i.e. The First Noel, etc... and the ever-popular, "Sleigh Ride")

if a school wants to celebrate christmas, that's fine with me.

i'll never force my child to observe a religion, but if they want to, they are free to partcipate.

david I do not beleive any one should be forced to observe any religion, but by the same token I do not beleive that religion should be banned from public schools, if they had played a Hannakah piece I would have had no objection at all. Strings is an elective and if a child has an objection to playing Christmas music they don't have to.

I object to the minority ruling over the majority but also object to the majority forcing their beleifs on the minority.

i agree.

my daughters school has a bulletin board in their hallway that has the golden rule, along with examples of it from various other world religions. i thought it was a great example because it taught something i felt was important, while at the same time teaching them that it was an idea that was integral to all religions.

Why is it so important to some of you to praise and worship the Christ in a watered down version. They will not allow you to proclaim publicly, on their property that Jesus Christ is the only Way, the Only Truth , and the Only Life, and that Only through Him, may men enter heaven.

Personally, I would not set foot on their property, or at least shake the dust off my feet as I split out of there. BTW, since when did "jingle bells, and frosty", have anything to do with Christ

Who said anything about Christ being worshiped in a watered down version....I think your jumping to the conclusion that those who celebrate Christmas are automatically Christian....

I also didnt see anyone claiming Jingle Bells or Frosty had anything to do with Christ , but to imply that people who may be Christain and think it's cool to have their kids sing these songs in school makes them somehow lesser than IMO is very UN-Christian

Look as a Christian I choose to send my kids to parochial schools lots of prople dont have that option for whatever reason....

With the recent assault on anything related to Christmas I think its a dam fine trend to see something that relates to Christmas getting back into the public schools....

I attended a concert a few years ago (PC named December Celebration) where Kwaanzaa songs were sung as well as a Hanukkah tune but not even a hint of anything Christmas, I would have loved to hear Frosty or Jingle Bells....

Shrewman, no doubt you are a very knowledgable man when it comes to religion but I don't think I have ever saw a christian as negative as you are, The most of your post are negative and just seem to stir the pot, Is that very christian like?
