Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default JFK computer game

Have people seen this on the news? Its a downloadable computer game where you can be the shooter in the reinactment of the JFK asasination. You actually get points for the different people you kill. JFK, Jackie, others. I am a pretty openminded guy, but this seems to cross the line of good taste. To me it is unecessary and morbid.

Since my favorite video game is Tenchu 3 ,
a game where you're a 15th century ninja who's mission is to kill people in assorted grusome ways , I'm probably not the best person to ask .

However , I see nothing wrong with it compared to existing games such as Grand Theft Auto , et al . You play games to be entertained , not to learn values from them . Values are what your parents and society teach you .

BTW , do you get bonus points for multiple headshots ?

I've got no problems with killing ninjas or running over fake people in GTA. That doesn't bother me one bit. But shooting a president and getting rewarded for it - to me not the same. If it were a fake president I don't think it would be anywhere near as bad. just like a fake ninja.

I don't think the game is necessary either. Much has been done in the way of portraying the incident in film and books, its simply isn't necessary to make a game where people can get their rocks off trying to assassinate a pixilated president.

A better game might be one where you have to similate a drunken drive with an Oldsmobile as Ted Kennedy. That's a game that should be made.

Actually you don't. The only way to score high is to make the exact same shot at the exact same time as Oswald. Easier said than done. As shooter games go I find this one rather mild in comparison to many others out there. It does provoke thought at least.
