Default Is a deer stand worth it

Even though I am passionate about the outdoors, I would like to live another day to enjoy it.

I'll have to give that one ol' boy credit. If he can stay out there and keep on hunting, he's a lot more dedicated than I am.

The shooter is mental. I'd bet he has a criminal rap sheet as long as his arm.

Is it that common? I never thought it was.

Anyway, it sounds like a bunch of responsible, law abiding hunters, doing their thing, attacked by a criminal over a stupid dispute. The same thing happens regularly, regardless of the activity -- that is, people are killed over stupid disputes -- road rage, cheerleader moms, kids' hockey games, etc. Impossible to blame hunting, although that is exactly what will happen.

Bet you he was poaching. He's in another person's stand on private property, and he starts shooting everyone? Poacher, whacko, or both. Hope he gets what's coming to him.

As per the article the suspect was carrying a SKS and it is supposedly a common deer hunting rifle.[:@] That is pretty pathetic . He was also wearing camo which not up on other states regs but blaze orange would be mandatory in a heavily hunted state like Wisconsin.

From what I've read, that area has no restrictions and that rifle is apparently commonly used. What is being written could be wrong, but I've seen that from several news sources.

To answer the question: yes.

There would be no point in owning property if everyone else uses it without permission without any sort of response.

Was it worth 6 lives? No. On the other hand, people catching trespassers in Wisconsin happens all of the time. Up until this point, 100% of the time the tresspasser leaves the property and noone gets shot. The people who were shot were probably believed in the good nature of humans and hunters in particular and were preyed upon by a psychopath.

No not at all. The Sherrif of the county where this happened stated this. The uninformed media buls%&#! as you put it are the ones trying to dredge up the words "assault rifle". So I ask you, who's side are you on anyhow? Are you afraid of throwing your hat in the ring for defending the rights of gun owners or would you rather just enable a terrible incident to be used to ban a class of guns?

The VPC center agrees with you by the way.
