Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Here's the evvelope you wanted....

"Gene Renuart and I had come to the White House on the first Monday of August to brief the President and the NSC( national security council) on the latest version of what had become OPLAN1003V-no longer a concept, but a full blown plan. We would summarize the progress we'd made since our meeting at Camp David in May, when I had descibed a series of military options to remove Saddam Hussein from power".

This passge was taken from Tommy Franks book American Soldier, sounds to me like the Military Generals wrote up the plans for Iraq and then discussed them with Secretary Rumsfeld, President Bush and the NSC and they only agreed to Tommy Franks plans after careful considerations noted later on in the book, but from what I've read the politicians were involved , but the Generals made the plans and presented them to the administration for approval..

Sorry VC I guess your not always right about everthing, even though you think you are. Read the book!

Oh and thanks for proving to everyone else reading your posts and insults to me and a few others that you really do think your Holier than Thou... Your just a punk with good typing skills and plenty of time on your hands.

LOL...been frantically skimming that book, eh? And this is what you come up with?

So where's the part about withdrawal? Hussein's loooong gone, right? So why aren't we, if this, yet another of your simple-minded cut-and-paste jobs, is supposedly a detailed exit strategy?

Nice try, fight4. Keep trying. You might get it right, especially with some help from our board toadie, logs.

Here logs, have some peanuts and get back in the peanut gallery where you belong.

Well Mr Hunting net Know it all. First it's hard to cut and paste from a book on a shelf and second I opened it randomly and picked a pargraph out of it. Read Chapter 11 and 12 and tell me then who made up the plans for Iraq. You'll probably find the book quite a bit more informative than CNN.

Oh All hail Mr. Hunting Net Know It All,you again battered ol Logs and I with your sarcasm and superior intelect and showed us you da king. What a joke![&:] I find it amusing that you in your own little mind think your right on every issue and resort to little kid type name calling when you get frustrated. You aint nuttin!

VC, I have the feeling you greatly enjoy reading your own post. I have, however, noticed that you rarely if ever are actually able to answer a direct question. To get on this site, and argue points in the manner you do is weak at best. Your constant belitteling of others provides great insight to your own character. Perhaps, in your own mind, you think you are witty and brilliant, this feeling is shared by few on this board. If you have a point make it. If you have an argument, argue it. Your constant attempts to marginalize others with repeated personal assaults on their mental capacity and the like, completely strips you of any credibility. I have been fortunate enough no have met and known many brilliant thinkers in my life, you are not one of them, no matter how hard you try. I think you need to evaluate why you post. It's my suspicion that you post to read your own post and gather as much attention to yourself as possible. Rather than seek such petty attention here, you may be better served talking with a physcologist.

I should have known by the errors that you didn't cut and paste. Lol, I stand corrected, fight.

You read Chapter 11 and 12 and post the exit strategy in detail. It is you that maintains that since you've actually read a book that you are a bona fide expert on the subject. All I did was raise questions that even you were able to find interesting. That shows that I have the courtesy to dumb it down for those in the peanut gallery.

I've slam-dunked your first attempt. Care to try again? Its your thread, Skippy.

Oh and while your at it, please keep trying to prove that its the generals that make the policy, not the government. Better pack a lunch.

Muley69, here's a quarter...find a nice sticky phone booth and call someone who gives a rat's patootie what you think. If you don't like what I write, don't read it. If you've got a direct question, ask it. If you're lucky and you're question is worthy and not perfectly inane like most on this board, I may answer. Or I may tell you to go pound salt. So go ahead, punk. Do you feel lucky?

Oh! Cal, I am sorry...how rude of me. I must admit that after working OT today and getting my son into bed, my last two Coronas(Ice Cold, and that half a lime are gone.) Odd how at my age a six pack lasts for several months.....and also get a tad bit warm in the time it takes to drink them. LOL

Promise to get more next time my friend. [8D]
