RE: Ain't war HE?L?????: Question for the vets...
The U.S. Military is, if nothing else, extremely thorough in the investigation of anything out of the ordinary. This Marine will be given the best attorney available while the many aspects of this shooting are investigated and during any trial that may ensue. Everybody involved will be questioned and every possible piece of evidence will be examined. In the end he will proboably face a courts martial which is not necessarily a bad thing. It will either clear him or he will be convicted of a crime at some level. The UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) is quite clear, simple and concise in its format and administration quite the opposite of the civilian counterpart.
The facts we at home have right now are these; There is one less terrorist to worry about and several live Marines. We have a Marine in trouble due to a decision he made and acted upon. The politically corect media is going to have a field day until something more immediate comes along. Who knows, maybe scott petersen will commit suicide or something and by the time that is off the front page, this item will be history.
