Didn't Iran's last Ayatolla's body get knocked out of his coffin some years ago by a mob? Not that they were angry, they just seem to go kind of nuts by our standards at funerals.

I thought the same thing as I heard all of the mournful gunfire (never understood that--to me guns are for shooting things; firecrackers are for noise) on the radio this morning. But I'd think Arafat's body itself would be more a public saftey risk, being infected with AID and decaying for a week in France. [:'(]

I remember Khomeni's funeral, his body falling from the casket. That was a grotesque scene. Arafat was the father of modern terrorism; because of him, thousands & thousands of innocents have been murdered. In a strange way, this type of action @ his funeral is befitting the terrorist & monster he was.

Who else is France gonna give military honors to? Besides, the whole Eiffel tower thing cracks me up anyway. It was built to welcome home victorious French troops. Too bad the Germans have gotten more use out of it than the French.
