Here is the latest email letter from the Million Moms and the Brady Campaign. I get the impression that they are a little concerned their funding will be drying up, by the tone of the letter. LOL! Not the reference to making "machine guns" legal again. Sounds like they are using some fear tacics of their own.
Dear Stop the NRA member:
We are all dismayed by the results of Tuesday's elections. All of us were hoping for a different outcome. But we still have a lot going for us and it is critical we keep up the fight. We still have many friends in the Congress, the support of the majority of Americans for our issue and most importantly we have you - a group of dedicated activists who helped us over and over this year.
You have demonstrated what can be done when the odds are against us - and the odds are still against us - but we need to continue our efforts to save lives and make this country a safer place. It won't be easy, but we know you did not join in this fight because it was easy.
We can expect that the NRA and conservatives in Congress will launch an all out assault on gun control laws, including repeal of the Brady Law and even the repeal of the ban on machine guns. They are more emboldened than ever and their top priority is to provide immunity from civil lawsuits for rogue gun dealers. With your help we beat this legislation earlier this year. We expect this legislation to come up early in 2005 and we must begin work now if we are to defeat it again.
But we are not just playing defense. President Bush's second term gives us another opportunity to hold him to his campaign promises to re-instate the assault weapons ban and close the gun show loophole. The American people heard his assurances of support for these sensible gun laws and relied on them in re-electing him President. Now is the time for President Bush to show the leadership necessary to help pass laws that are so important to public safety.
We are fighting for a safer and more sane America so we will be calling on you to help us in the coming weeks and months. This is a long battle and we hope we can count on you to stick with us.
Sincerely,
stoptheNRA.com

This goes to show that while this battle is over & supporters of our second amendment civil right to own firearms have won a victory, the war against our civil rights is not over. Don't let your NRA membership lapse, keep on your elected representatives to vote for our civil rights, & we must continue to vigorously counter any argument or attack from those who would infringe upon our rights. It's time to get the protection of lawful commerce law passed & be on the offensive against those who would destroy the second amendment. President Bush has made a major change in the positioning of this issue by stating that the words of the second amendment mean what it clearly says.
Whitehorse, I agree it's time to take the offensive and get some things passed and some repealed. Traditionally gun owners have waited until something comes against them to react, lets make the other side defensive now while we can.

HA HA! Excellent funny, Aught Six. They could play it at their whine and cheese pity party.
Why do people think getting rid of guns will make the world a safer place? In Texas, cheating on your wife and then making up by getting her a nice big SUV is much more dangerous.
