Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Next battle?

With an apparent victory of George Bush and gains in both the US house or representatives and the US senate for republicans, the battle to preserve our gun rights might seem to be over for now. I suggest you might do something else to help us out -- and this can apply whether you are a Republican or Democrat.

George Bush may have the responsibility to nominate three or more candidates for US supreme court justice during his second term. I plan to write to Bush and my US senators urging them to propose and approve US supreme court justices who interpret the second amendment as directed to guaranteeing an individual right to keep and bear arms. I suggest you do this also.

I'm pretty sure that the Republicans even now are proposing candidates for replacing Chief Justice William Reinquist when he retires, which is liable to be very soon. Recall the Chief Justice Reinquist has not been able to return to the bench recently due to his need to recover from a tracheotomy -- a piercing of the throat to enable breathing when the throat is otherwise blocked -- which was required due to his cancer. The time to put a but in the ear of these players is before they advance a candidate before the whole senate or before the media. The time is now. Let them know that this is something that a candidate ought to be screened for.

Some legal minds believe that the second amendment is only directed to the right of states to have a militia. I believe this is what John Kerry means when he says "I support the second amendment AS IT HAS COME TO BE INTERPRETED IN THIS COUNTRY." I believe we need supreme court justices who unambiguously interpret this amendment to guarantee an individual's right to keep and bear arms.

Second Amendment to US Constitution
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

A typo occured in my previous post. I meant to type:

"The time to put a BUG in the ear of these players is before they advance a candidate . . ."

Sorry.

Tax reform could be the next big legislative battle. There's a lot of talk about a complete overhaul and restructuring.

A very good idea. The going is still going to be rough. Many of the super liberals are still there. However the American people have sent a message that the far left is not where they want to go. The Dems better listen or they are in for a long unpleasant life.

Tax reform, Social Security reform, get the federal government out of our schools, tort reform, judicial reform (make it possible to get rid of judges that are obviously, biased or incompetent) those should do for starters, I really don't want much, do I??
