Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default 2 am.....

Still not sure who the president is going to be. It looks like Bush at this moment. Ohio hasn't been called yet.
But, I see a country severely divided. I only hope the Republicans & Democrats (all Americans) can somehow unify these next 4 years. These next 4 years will be bitter and make a bitter divided country if we cannot.

This divide has concerned me for some time. Its not just the divide but the outright hatred that seems to drive it.

Don't sweat it. Bush won, and it's all over but the crying. They'll have to face facts sooner or later. He took electoral and popular vote. I'm staying up till W addresses people or they make a statement. I know now they are strategizing as to what their proper response is , given the pathetic statement from Edwards.

Yep, in my own family, my brother, who I am best friends with, is for Kerry. We have always had some great heated debates about politics. We always respected each others opinion, even though we were coming from opposite ends of the spectrum. This year he is so obstinate and hateful about his opinions that he has stopped talking to me about political issues. I feel it is like this all over the country. I have no idea if it can be changed. I think we are coming to such a division in ideals that there is no hope for unity any more.

Divided? 1st President in 18 years to win both the popular vote, and a majority electorate. Over 3,000,000 votes over Kerry - the biggest popular vote in voting history. Kerry needs to put his ego aside and think about the country.

You want close? Our governor race is right now 900 vote difference... 900 people. There are more people where I work. Go GINO ROSSI!

For all intents and purpose this election is over. Now, Bush and the Republican party has a lot of work ahead of them. If the democrats are smart, they will work with the Republicans and heal this divide. It is in the best interest of the country and for their party.
People do not like sore losers or bitter faced weights that drag them down to a stall or stop.

How we move forward from here before the inauguration will set the tone. How Bush re-establishes his cabinet will send a message to not only the American people and politicans but the world.

To continue this fight on global terrorism, establish a foot hold in the middle east for democracy and secure some form of peace for Isreal will take all of the four years and more. To do it as a solidified Nation will make the task less risky and less costly.

Americans must move forward with an eye on what is ahead. Those that whine and cry bitter notes just create drag and widen the divide. They hurt all Americans but themselves the worst.

I've said it all year long. If Kerry would have won the Reps would have been able to move forward for the country. If Bush wins the Dems would/will never accept it and the anger will continue for four more years.

I say to heck with the cry babies, get over it. Bush won!!!!!

WANWTF is right . . . placed in the context of elections over the last 30 years, it is hard to say there is a divide in the electorate. This election appears to be one of the biggest margins of victory in a long time. Note also that gains for Republicans have been made in both house and senate.

Maybe the point is not the election result versus other elections but rather the uncivil stridency, the Bush hate which has been palpable. I personally did not find the Bush hate to be rational, based on reason or experience of the world. The Bush hate was based on fear bred by anti-Bush partisans and fueled by lies and misrepresentations advanced by the news media. I can only guess that this is the only tactic remaining to the left-wing Democratic party, because the logic of their positions is missing. The American general public DOES NOT want same sex marriage. The American general public DOES NOT subscribe to the liberal social agenda. How do you win when you support this liberal social agenda which is against the grain of the majority of your constituency? Lie. Kick up people's fears. Demonize your opponent.

What I don't understand is why don't the Democrats reinvent themselves and dump that stupid liberal agenda? Maybe because they have built themselves up by stitching together a collection of fringe groups and depend upon them to get elected? These are only speculations. Others know more about this than I do. I just hope that the liberal agenda crap continues to be voted down -- whoever subscribes to that stuff.
