RE: Media must have selective memory
The media doesn't have selective memory, they are simply BIASED. They tell people what they want them to hear. No reason to let the facts get into the way of a good story.
Dr. John Lott spoke here the other day. He addressed how the media actually forms people's impressions on gun control. He mentioned a school shooting that was reported in almost 700 articles. Only 3 articles mentioned the shooter was stopped by a private citizen with a legally owned handgun. He had dozens more examples like that, all of which I had heard of, but none of which I knew had been stopped by armed citizens. A lot of the articles mention the perps being restrained, but somehow the gun that "restrained" them got left out.
That is why so many people in today's world think what they do about gun control. All the media ever reports is the bad things that happen with guns. Since nothing good is ever said, people are lead to believe the only use for a gun is for robbing and killing innocent victims.
