Here's one for ya! Kids used as bait

There was a story here about a couple that suspected their baby sitter was abusing their children, a 6 month old and a 2 year old - through strange bruises and "stories" from the two year old. Since they couldn't prove it, they set up a spy camera, asked the baby sitter over, and caught it all on tape. The baby sitter was taped throwing the 6 month old into the crib and hitting and knocking down the two year old. The kids were screaming in pain and hysteria.

Now while I certainly think this baby sitter should be taken to the ditch and shot, left for the vultures, I'm not so sure the parents shouldn't join them.

The baby sitter was the mother's ex-boyfriend. Ok. Whoa. Back the bus up. WHY would you ask a MALE, EX-BOYFRIEND to baby sit your kids? Furthermore, WHY would you use your kids as bait to catch him? Why not just get a different babysitter?

What do you think? Were the parents abusing these children?

Yes.

Its pretty sick that the parents put the kids into harm's way to prove something. Its even sicker that the babysitter didn't get bludgeoned before these people went to the police.

If it was my children, the babysitter would have moved out of the country and left no forwarding address for some strange reason. It"™s odd how people can choose to disappear like that and never want to be heard from again.

There was abuse and neglect involved here, wasn't there ? It wasn't INTENTIONAL abuse but rather the results of ignorance/mistakes/poor judgement on the parents part.

I dont know the guy, the situation or the story but male baby sitters are a no no for my children ALWAYS.

The parents might as well be brain dead as far as I'm concerned. I don't think they are responsible for the abuse, but they did use a questionable babysitter and didn't bother to call the police or protective services after receiving evidence of abuse. Perhaps they didn't break the law, but they sure as heck proved how incompetent they are in handling abuse.

I have no problem with a male babysitter, my sons babysit in the neighborhood.

I do have a problem with parents suspecting someone is abusing the kids and using that person AGAIN!

sorry, but innocent until proven guilty does not apply when it comes to the safety of my kids!
