They were talking about the math that schools teach.
And talking of money manigment.
They said more young people filed for bank rupcesy than gratade a university last year.

They were saying that schools should teach a money manigment cores.

What do yall think?
yes i know money manigment should be tought at home. But evidently it is not being.

I actualy think it would be a good idea.

Don't school have economics courses ?

I learned by getting a job, making car payments and learning that way. More kids should do that IMO - real life experience wins vs classroom training every time

Personally ,
I haven't noticed that contemporary scools teach kids much of anything of substantive value . They usually seem to focus more on touchy feely things than the 3 Rs anymore . We're raisng the next generation of moronic drones . [:@]

Today it is called Family and Consumer Sciences yesterday it was called Home Economics. How do I know? My wife is a FACS teacher in public schools in Florida. She is considering resigning her postition for the following reasons:

A lawsuit has been threatened by parents of a child who suffers from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (I'll leave it at that because the same people determining what abuse is are putting labels on all kids for something). The FAS child (middle school age) asked her teacer (my wife) if she would do something about the other kids in the class because they were bullying her.
When my wife had a moment she pulled the bulliers asside and explained to them the impact of bullying yada yada yada. The FAS child went home that night and told her parents that my wife has made her leave the room and go wait in the bathroom until class was over, which of course was not true.
The parents came to school the next day threatening a lawsuit and the administration buckled under the fear and called my wife into the principals office, repremanded her for being unprofessional etc. etc., forced her to spend and hour in a room alone with these same hostile parents with no other person there as a witness or anything. It is a real mess.
The real issue here is the fact that she feels as though she cannot teach anymore. Kids who want to learn do not have the opportunity because as is the case with my wife, she spends 95% of her time dealing with (OK get ready. I am going to be politically incorrect here) Retarded kids because some bleeding heart dodunk thinks that is the best place for them in the mainstream.
Sad real sad but this is what our education has become and it isn't going to get any better.

Schools don't have enough hours to teach everything. They have to prioritize. I personally think they should spend more time on spelling courses, but that's just me.

I guess schools are not teaching math. Apparently they are not teaching spelling and grammar, either.

I seem to remember calculating all kinds of monetary figures in math class back in elementary school. It's called arithmetic. No one needs to study calculus to balance a checkbook or a household budget. If schools are going to do something, how about getting back to the basics?

Oh, and regarding the bankruptcies, the reason they're overtaking the number of college graduations is because the average American is spending 110% of his/her income. I would think most adults can take a look at their paycheck and figure out how much money they have to spend, but I guess not.
