Default At what point is it necessary to get angry?

It seems that in the past two years, almost every product I buy isn't worth dragging home. Same goes for services rendered. At what point do you get mad and have to start yelling, or hire a lawyer?

I got into an accident July 7th causing $18,000 worth of damage to my 04 GMC. Wasn't enough to total. Now, three months later, I still have no truck. I've gone in to pick it up several times when the body shop calls and says it's ready, but it's never been acceptable. Currently the truck is down to ony two problems - shudders during acceleration, and pulls left and right causing it to be very difficult to keep on the road. I am at the end of my patience on this one. Most recently, I've called GMC, and the insurance claim specialist managing all of Michigan. These boys are cracking the whip on the dealer and seem to be on my side. We'll see. I told them I have a hunting trip planned in two weeks and will need a truck - my FIXED truck, or a loaner off the lot. Either way, I need a truck for this trip. I only think it's fair - I've been paying for a truck and insurance, I think I should be able to drive a truck. As many may know, I really do not like lawyers and especially dislike law suits. I do feel however that is my next and only step if the truck does not get fixed properly. Or should I mill about like a programmed sheep accepting this level of service? Should I get angry when I've been out of my truck for say, 6 months? Give them another chance? Would I be a hypocrite by sueing and for contributing to the pool of lawyers dirtying the pot? Or should I go in blazing. I can be a real a$$, but have been trying to avoid that in my life lately. Thanks for any advice.

I'd get angry now, and I'd also contact a lawyer. There's nothing frivolous about a suit if you really have been wronged. If you pay your loan and pay your insurance premiums, you deserve to have your truck in working order.

What responcibilty does GMC have?
Where they responcibl for the wrek?
Or is one of there dealers fixing the truck?

It seams to me that you problems are with the boady shop and the INS. company.
Do you have rental ins with your ins pollicy?

Who was at foult for the accident?

all good questions and aught six has good advice. Get legal counsil. It may ease you mind and sometimes a simple letter from a law firm will change attitudes quickly.
There are also other consumer advocate groups that might assist you - Better Business Bureau, a local TV station that looks at consumer fraud etc. Nobody likes that kind of press. Most importantly my advice to you would be don't accept a truck that isn't as good as it was before it was wrecked.

BT - I took the truck to the dealer's body shop where I bought the truck from.

GMC has no responsibility in this one, just thought I'd try them for a little added pressure - it worked. The service manager said the shudder in the driveline was normal and that he couldn't do anything else to help remedy the problem. (Sure, all $40,000+ trucks shudder, no? IDIOTS!) After GMC called, he suddenly found two other things he could check on. Hmmm....

I wasn't at fault - a kid blew a stop sign at 60 and T-boned me.

Luckily, the body shop gives out free loaners. I've put nearly 6,000 miles on their loaner in 3 months. Still, it'll be a little hard to pack a Cavalier with gear for two for a week of bowhunting.

The problem lies with people that think things are "good enough". "We can't help you beyond this - it's all we can do", mentality.

I think I will see what the truck does when they call me to come drive it for the 5th time. If there is a hint of a shudder, I'm not going to yell, but rather walk out calmly after I inform the body shop manager that he'll be hearing from my lawyer. I guess I have no choice.[>:][:@]

The reasion i was asking is.
here if the place fixing the truck dose not do a stafactory job. The Ins company lets you choes another shop.

After a month to a month and 1/2 i would have had it in anothr shop my self.

One of my many problems with the auto inderstry evan if your truck is fix to 100% condision you have still lost money on the truck. a wreked truck is never worth the value of the same truck un-wreked
