Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Vice-President Debate

Watching Edwards and Cheney debate. I really didn't know much about Edwards before, except that he was a fricking trial lawyer and I hate lawyers. Now after watching him I really really really don't like this guy. know that his constituants in NC were gonna fire his ratty butt if he ran for re-election. He's thrown out Haliburton about 3 times since I started watching. He's vermon.....I love his famous line....he wants every American to have the opportunities that he has had. We all have had those opportunities. We just didn't become scumbag lawuyers. Cheney is blasting him on his record right now. This is a much better matchup than last week's debate.

I agree. Cheney is doing very well. I was expecting it to go badly. I really hope that President Bush does well Friday. I like him a lot but I hate hearing him speak. He just stumbles over his words too much. When so many people don't follow the show untill the final few weeks, it's kinda scarey that the guy with the answers can't articulate them .

The three most important issues in this campaign are terrorism, the war in Iraq and security at home. The VP had total command of these three issues. Edwards had total command of the Democrat talking points but no grasp of the issues to any depth whatsoever.

He completely missed it when the VP detailed what we are doing in Iraq. Then in the Kerry/Edward plan for Iraq, he said they were going to do exactly what the Bush Administration is already doing in Iraq!

The VP was smart to totally ignore Edwards plaintive cries about Halliburton. The truth of it is, there are only two companies in the world that has the capacity to do what Halliburton is doing in Iraq. One is, of course, Halliburton, a US company, and the other is a French company. Do you think there is any chance that we are going to invite French companies to come in and burn up our $ when France isn't willing to provide troops or $? That is what Kerry/Edwards think should happen. They are dunderheads!!!

Cheney did amazingly! He is one of the best debaters that I have ever heard. He came off as experienced, mature, and well informed. Edwards on the other hand sounded rude, immature, snobbish, and uneducated in comparison. IMO hands down Cheney wasted Edwards.

I think Cheney won the debate. Edwards must have dropped John Kerry's name in almost every sentence he spoke. Something I've noticed is Edwards would typically attack whatever Bush/Cheney did or didn't do and then say they have a plan. Edwards didn't mention any specifics and neither has John Kerry. This secret squirrel stuff is wearing thin. Tell us your plans or at least be honest enough to admit you don't have one or it won't work.

CalHunter,

If you will recall, Schieffer specifically asked Kerry "What is your plan for Iraq?" He very quickly responded "I have a plane for Iraq, it is on johnkerry.com. Go there if you want to see what it is."

I have a challenge for you. Go to johnkerry.com and see if you can find a plan for any of the issues in the election!!

Edwards looked like exactly what he is, a bush league malpractice attorney and a one term Senator who would not have been reelected had he run for office in NC!!!

I think too that Cheney won this debate. He hammered Kerry's record (& what record Edwards has) with facts. Cheney also kept his cool while continuing to drop the hammer in a fairly engaging way.

Best line! Cheney: I have been VP for four year now and I preside over congress every Tuesday. This is the first time I have met you!
SLAM BANG. That put Edwards in the light he really is in.
