Am i the only liberal, how shall i say, "gun nut", in the world. yes im voting kerry, but thats not the point. and dont get offended by the term gun nut. work with me here.
I dont necessarily support the nra, nor do i like the fact that guns can kill your fellow man, and are used to do so.
but, by golly, guns are..... ok i admit it, guns are sweet as hell. whats not to like about blasting a peice of lead at 3 times the speed of sound, and blowing chunks of whatever out of the point of impact.
Every time i go out shooting, a part of me just wants to let the bullets fly, shoot anything and watch it explode.
unfortunately, that kind of behavior will get someone killed or injured. i like guns. but that doesnt mean im not a responsible gun user.
am i the only liberal "gun nut" out there? do any of u feel the same way?
This belongs in the HUnting Politics section. I'll answer it and hopefully a moderator will move it to that area. Why would anyone in their right mind vote for a person that graded F on the NRA grading system and who in the past 20 years has voted for every antigun legislation passed in front of him? Not to mention his wife contributes lots of money to lots of nice "Liberal" organizations that don't like guns as well.

Thats not my point, i have many good reasons for voting kerry. im not here to debate, i already clarified that in my first post. FORGET polictics for a second please, i was just wondering if there is anyone like me out there. i have yet to meet anyone like me, who loves guns, for the reasons i do. and is also a liberal.

You are out of place. If you won't vote to protect your right to keep and bear arms then you have no business owning guns in the first place. You better wake up before it's too late.

Are you indeed a "responsible gun owner?" People who like to "shoot anything and watch it explode" are not welcomed on any range I shoot at, nor anywhere I hunt. These are not the actions of a responsible gun owner, they are the immature actions of someone who would abuse nearly anything - - drugs, alcohol, automobiles, possibly even children. They are the desires and actions of someone whose reckless disregard for safety and civility ruin things for the rest of us.
If you truly believe that spraying lead at anything to watch it explode makes you in any way a responsible gun owner, please sell your guns and get some therapy.
you guys think that kerry is going to ban guns completely? i dont think so, its unconstitutional. kerry isnt that anti gun. he probably will make them more difficult to obtain. and have more restrictions, but not ban them completely. as for asaullt rifles, i sit in the middle, that much firepower can be dangerous in the wrong hands. yet, a gun is a gun. any gun can kill.

Think Kerry isn't that anti-gun, look at his voting record. I am a hunter, gun owner, son of a Vietnam vet, member of the U.S Air Force and I don't like people who take whatever side of an issue they think is popular at the time so I suppose you can see my dislike of Kerry.
jmfa. in respose to your post, I would never do such a thing. i would never fire my rifle so wrecklessly. its my fault because i had worded the sentence poorly.
im not saying that going nuts with a rifle means that you are a resposible gun owner. im saying that i am a resposible gun owner and i would never do such a thing.
I follow every rule of gun safety, all the time every time.
i would never use my rifle in a way where someone could be injured or killed.
Im trying to say that it would be nice if we didnt have to worry about where the the bullets landed. i love plinking. but it is illegal to use firearms in my county. i have to drive all the way to another county. find a deserted field or woods, and have a safe backstop. it can be a hassle. and you cant plink fun targets (rotten fruit, cans, etc) at a range, only paper targets, which dont satisfy me.
I take gun safety very seriously, as do all of you. I just wish i could go out into the backyard and enjoy myself, without needing to worry about the issue of saftey. but alas, this is the real world, and we cant do such things.
