it seems like according to drudge report that kerry had broken the rules of the Debate by taking a piece of paper out of his coat and conspiracy theories are flying around that Kerry had a cheat sheet..... It doesnt suprise me if Kerry did cheat ( link below)
That's very true, but if he holds his own while debating domestic issues, he could very well impress some of the moderates out there. A rebounding economy and tax cuts are good things unless you're a socialist, which most Americans are not.
Unfortunately, I doubt the second debate being held on a Friday evening will draw anywhere near the 62.5 million that watched the first one. That is 60% of the number of people who voted in the 200 election. It was huge . . .
I think Cheney will do very well tonight though. I've always been impressed with him.

Something to think about, what did either candidate do prior to the debate?
One laied around and practiced
One was in florida helping with hurrican victums.

Eto,
Although your reasoning is logical, the ranking of the issues by voters, across multiple demographics are 1) Domestic/economy and 2) Iraq & Counter-terrorism.
If GW "lost" the terrorists debate battle, he's in for trouble on the domestic issues, because Kerry showed he can debate and that he's quick-witted. Although I couldn't understand half of what he was saying, just the fact that he was saying something and something different for each answer swings many voters...
Although the polls have not changed drastically, realize that the number of undecideds decreased simultaneously with increases for Kerry. That's why the Prez and his staffers are concerned, because Kerry drastically started to win over the hard-fought undecideds, which we all know in close races basically dictate the resulting winner...

to me the debates do not matter , when you up on the podium you can say whatever will make the most people happy but what matters is what you do NOT WHAT YOU SAY YOU WILL DO
