Sunset, you had proposed a volunteer force awhile back that the average citizen could join to help defend our communities and nation. I recently ran across just such an organization which is active in about 30 states. They are uniformed volunteers, trained in First Aid, Security and other missions. Some states have them armed, others, like here in Georgia are not. They are known as (your state) Defense Force. You can get more information at the Clark Howard website
