In Indiana if you can drive it legally on the street , including horses , it's considered a vehicle and the drunk driving laws apply .

There used to be an old drunkie down the road from me who finally lost his license for life(after 32 convictions) , so he'd ride his riding lawnmower to the local bar to get his beer . As long as he continued to cut through the field behind the bar to get there the cops did nothing , but one time he went down the side of the road while already intoxicated and ... You guessed it . He's cooling his heels for the next 6 years at the local minimum security prison .

There is a town north of Lincoln, that has a hitchin post in front for a guy that lost his license, got another DWI for trying the lawnmower thing, and now rides his horse to the bar every day. Now that is dedication!!
