Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Coastie, the "weidos" are the Americans without guns. Having a tool to protect you and your family is merely being prudent and responsible for your family's safety.
This thought popped into my head. How many successful stories are out there where someone was successful in protecting there families because of a gun.

Don't think I am anti gun. I own two myself and think it is everyones right to own.
I had to recopy this to see if more might respond to this....

If someone enters my PRIVATE home where my Children, Wife and Earthly posessions are contained then that person has given up all rights as a human being and I think should be shot on entry. If more people made it very clear that it is not OK to enter ones private property and started shooting those persons the crime rate will drop.

Net Net . . . . come in my home with intent to steal or harm and you have no rights. I have the right to bear arms and protect me and mine any way I see fit. Even if the laws are changed, god help us, I will still have my own laws I follow first.

I don't think those stories are glorious enough for the evening news, or the newspapers to cover. Heck, I'm not even sure people always report that sort of thing to the police all the time.

I seem to believe that I have heard various anecdotes, but nobody ever puts any stock in those.

Eth I find you to be one of the intelligent people on this site but that quote leads me to think differently.

You must not be an NRA member Buckmine .
The magazine that I get from them each month has a full page of such "success" stories right up front .

As for myself , stick your nose in my door or a leg through my window without an invitation from me and I'll have some questions to answer in the morning . IMO if you enter my home uninvited you're automatically a threat to our safety , but not for long .

What I meant is, the nightly news reports on horrible news almost exclusively. A good story, like a guy defending his home probably gets overlooked.

Then, about no reporting everything to the police, think about this: A guy is awoken by some noises outside. He steps out on his porch and pumps his shotgun, and hears some people run off. Would he call the cops about this? Pobably not most of the time.

Kevin, you used the word you and your which directs it towards me. In my first post did I ask for this harshness? No I am not a member then can you inform me if I can find these stories on the net?

Right! If a story has dire consequences, or a way to spin it to make gun ownership look bad, the news will run with it.
