"It's debilitating to have a candidate who does not seem quite clear on where he stands on these issues. Maybe we need to have a slogan that says 'Bush and Kerry both suck. ... That's why I'm voting for John Kerry,'" Moore said.
What is he talking about?! This is the problem with the Anybody-but-Bush crowd--they don't know what they want, as long as it isn't our President. That kind of thinking led to the nomination of probably the worst candidate to face Bush this election. And, in turn, that nomination will lead to failure in the political arena.
I can't wait to see what he does after the election. Maybe he'll be forced to get a real job, but I'm not holding my breath.
RE: Moore Trying to Squirm Back into the Spotlight
Aught Six:
You just don't understand. Michael Moore is NOT about thinking, reason, logic, judgment, discrimination, perspicaciousness -- Michael Moore is "guerrilla theater", "street theater." And this goes for many other Democratic Party mouthpieces.
I saw Geraldine Ferraro and the token liberal on Fox news last night beating up on Dick Armey of Texas (former US representative -- at least I think he has retired) about the Dan Rather memo problem. Ferraro and the Fox token liberal demanded to know why Armey was not concerned that Collin Powell used forged documents in his speech to the UN. To me this is exemplary of the lack of logic of Democrats. Is it true to say the documents Powell presented were forged? Did Powell know they were forged? In the case of the Dan Rather memo, literally people sitting in their pajamas are talented enough to discern that the 60 minutes documents could not have possibly been made in 1971. What level of skill would be needed to discern that the Powell documents were forgeries -- if they were in fact forgeries?
No connection. No relevance. No strong case for their position, only a mere shred of plausibility which doesn't hold up very well under examination.
I have long ago given up weighing and pondering the arguments put forth by Democratic Party operatives. It is a waste of time to sift through their chaff trying to find reason and argument. Their positions are well known. "Let's not spend money on defense. Let's not take any military action abroad: this might lead to a quagmire. Let's spend money on social programs for the disadvantaged. Let's increase taxes on the rich (but really increase taxes on everyone, including you and me, because there just isn't a large enough base of rich people out there to garner the total $$$$ they need to fund their give away programs). Let's outlaw guns, but let's not be mean and lock people up in prison for committing crimes, perhaps committed using guns, because we might have made a mistake in 1% of the violent crime trials." It is just about that simple.
RE: Moore Trying to Squirm Back into the Spotlight
Man, you went off!
That's my point: they make no sense! The hatred of Bush is pure negative emotion, no truth, no logic. I know that some people will always stand for one thing or another, but to pay homage to a fat, greasy, loudmouthed hatemonger?
I'm young, so please forgive me. I just don't remember reading or hearing about an election quite like this one. The Left never seemed as angry and unhinged as since 2000.
RE: Moore Trying to Squirm Back into the Spotlight
Aught-Six trust me, I have seen numerous campaigns in my 50 years and both the Dems and the Republicans have truly thrown mud and slung hatred at each other MANY times, I will admit that depending upon which side of the fence you sit will determine who is slinging mud and who is telling the truth![8D]

They need to ship Mikeee Moore (Porky Pigster) and Danny Boy Rather over to Iraq(one way ticket).
So these two weasals wanta be in the spot light! Here's my thoughts
They will be issued standard desert camo's. Since they both enjoy the spot light they will be issued an optional Blaze Orange Vest and Cap. This WILL BE required wear for Mikee and Danny Boy. We wanta make sure they stay in the spotlight (or nightscope) while on their short tour of duty as journalists. Hee - Hee

Oh yeah, that's the truth. It's just the level of ferocity in the Democrats' hateful speech. I suppose that we've had an almost infinite level of coverage with the help of cable news, talk radio, and the Internet, unlike years past. Perhaps the difference is not what's said, but how much air time it all receives.
RE: Moore Trying to Squirm Back into the Spotlight
Michal Moore dont have to try to get in the spotlight especially when colleges are paying him big bucks to come and talk, I go to Ferris State University in Big Rapids Mi and they are paying him 20 G to come do a talk. After that I heard hes going to CMU to do the same thing. What a crock, cannot believe the amount of support he gets.[:@][:'(]

That fat bag of manure (moore) is pulling out all the stops in his rabid effort to oust President Bush. His lie-filled, decieitful move fareheit 911 is set for DVD release on Oct. 5th, he has a book coming out later in the month bashing Bush and, perhaps worst of all, there's a lot of talk about showing farenheit 911 on TV on the eve of the election!!
Problem is that some people actually believe that crap and it could possibly influence enough fence sitters to make a difference in the outcome.
