For what it's worth... I re-upped my membership in the NRA a few weeks ago. So did my sister and my brother-in-law.

Check this out: My daughter (the one who's real good with a .22 and er, uh, um, has outshot her old man!) wants me to get her a Ruger 10/22 so she can go shooting anytime she wants. Then, I'll match up my old boyhood Marlin Model 60 against her with a brand new Ruger 10/22! It is so much fun plinking .22's with my daughter. Imagine if Kerry were President, we'd never be allowed to do that! [:@] (side note: The last time we were shooting, my daughter cleanly punched the 10 ring with my old Marlin Mod 60 and a cheapy Tasco rimfire scope. She had the audacity to tell me that using a scope on a .22 is cheating! )
