Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Gun Owners did you hear about this?

I heard on ABC news this morning that the shop whwre the Bushmaster rifle that was used in the DC area killings (which was stolen by Malvo from what I understood) and Bushmaster firearms are settling a lawsuit with several of the victims families. Supposedly the gun shop is going to cough up 2 million and Bushmaster is going to cough up 550k. I don't know why either one of these can be thought to be at fault. I think this sets a really bad precedence.

I read it yesterday in the paper, pretty big news here considering I'm about 20 minutes from that Gun shop. It was a settlement decided on to let the families have closure and to stop the esclating legal fees. Niether Bushmaster or the Bullseye admit any wrong doing, in fact I've talked with the previous owner last year at a sportsman show and He was happy to have the investigation, he was suspicous of a couple of his employees. When I asked how easy it would be to steal a weapon from there(it's a small shop) He said it can get pretty crowded so someone looking like they knew what they were doing could easily walk out withan AR w/out anyone noticing.

I read about this yeterday and it upset me that they caved in regardless of the reason stated. I think it is time that someone sued the American Bar Association and selected universities for allowing unprincipaled attorneys to continue to practice and for graduating them in the first place. The ground work has been done to clear the way for such suits by the very attorneys involved with the firearms industry lawsuits so let's turn it against them.

AGREED! But it is usually CHEAPER to settle out of Court than go to trial, even if you are completely in the right. Shyster trial lawyers like John Edwards know this, and that's why we continue to see such frivolous filings! That's probably what's happening here. I wish the judges would get some b-lls and throw more such meritless cases out of Court!!
