I think it's a bad idea unless an attack actually prevents people from being physically able to reach the polling places. I'd hate for Kerry to win simply because people in a predominantly conservative area can't get out and about.

I have been wondering about this since the Spanish caved in several months ago. I would like the FEC to set some rules in place ahead of time and get them blessed by the supreme court to prevent any significant delay. The rules could be along the lines of,If the election process and date are upset due to any external influence such as a terrorist act, the election will take place one week later. The election would be postponed on a one week at a time basis until such time as the election in all 50 states could be completed on the same day. No information would be allowed to be published about any attempted election and the result thereof by any organization until an election could be completed in all 50 states to keep the media from skewing things in favor of any individual or party.
