Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Do you mean the George who wanted to be king? The one who it was claimed a commen man? The cherry tree story, The one who suffered right along with the troops at valley forge? In his own cabin ,with his own fire, in a bed?Had his own rations& wine& brandy. No diffent then the english gentlmen& generals.War profiteering& pampered &privledged men.On the backs of the expendable nobodys?

I believe he almost lost that war- trying to emulate those british generals- but i could be wrong

Your exactly correct Ifferd. Politicians especially in the last decade have taken great pains for that to happen. And your solution would be?

I think the prediction was that partisan politics will destroy this great REPUBLIC of ours. I dare say that I agree, I'm watching it come true.

Ifferd there is no solution..we are controlled by special interests and global companies. A third party couldn't possibly emerge unless the citizens themselves take matters into their own hands. That would be an interesting outcome and I would say not a pretty one. We have thoroughly added truckloads of laws which are either outdated or put in place to appease certain special interest groups and or corporations. We have no balance in the judiciary thanks to appointments in true partisan fashion, ie witness all the midlevel judicial appointments made by our own Slick Willie which in the long run will do more damage then any Supreme court appointment. I get a kick out of the sides taken by both parties..The Kerry Line "Hope is on the Way" and the Republicans just care about the rich and then see our own president spending money in a totally un-republican manner ie fiscally unresponsible. Enough to make one gag.

The division in this country occurred BEFORE 2004, BEFORE 2000! It actually occurred in 1992 when Clinton was elected President with less than 50% of the vote, and then in 1996 when he was reelected, once again with less than 50% of the vote. And then he sharply divided the courntry over Monica Gate. Had he had an ounce of statesmanship to him, he would have resigned just as President Nixon did. Nixon resigned rather than put the nation through the ordeal of an Impeachment trial.

And why did he do it? Because the Republican party had statesmen who were serving in the US Senate, led by Senator Howard Baker from TN, who went to him and said, "Mr. President, resign or WE will JOIN the Democrats in the Senate in finding you guilty." Had they hung together in 1973 as the Democrats did in 1996, the House would have Impeached Nixon, but the Senate would not have found him guilty because the Democrats didn't have enough votes by themselves. It was a sad day in our nations history when the Democrats, who did not have such statesmen in its ranks, turned their backs on the nation and voted no on the Impeachment of Clinton.

And then Gore tried to steal the election in 2000!! And now they blame Bush for having stolen it? All Gore had to do to win the 2000 election was win his home state of TN!!! FL would not have been an issue!!!

The Democrats are SICK!!! They have been attacking President Bush for over a year in the primaries, on the Senate floor, wherever they can find a microphone to speak. They've called him a liar, said he misled the country, said he concocted the war in Crawford, TX, said he knew about 9/11 BEFORE it happened!! And then when the Swift Boat Veterans come out and question the veracity of Kerry's claims about his war record, they claim foul!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!! [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
