Default Stop the NRA is still trying to win AWB extention

Here is the latest email from the Anti-gun folks at million mom march and the Brady center.............

StopTheNRA supports Tom Mauser's Petition to Renew the Assault Weapons Ban and hopes you will too. Time is of the essence. The ban expires this September 13th, so please act now. Click here to pass this on to your friends.

Dear Friend:

This map shows all the places
Tom's Petition has been signed so far.

Five years ago my 15-year-old son Daniel Mauser was one of 13 people killed at Columbine High School by two students. One of them used an illegal assault weapon. On September 13, the federal Assault Weapons Ban will expire and Ak-47s, Uzis and TEC-DC9s will be legal again -- unless we do something about it. In this day and age, nothing could be more insane.

Click here to experience the exciting and unprecedented new Internet technology we are using to grow an online petition. Join me in my effort to see how many millions of names I can collect to deliver to President Bush. We will change the course of this country and create a lasting legacy for my son.

This petition uses a new technology based on the power of "six degrees of separation." If each of us passes this message on to our friends and family this will be the fastest growing petition on the Internet ever! We will reach millions of people and force President Bush and Congress to extend the assault weapons ban.

Thank you,
Tom Mauser

Yep! They sure do know how to stretch numbers! I wish I could get them to balance my check book!
Just an observation here, I'd have to research again the weapons used at Columbine, I don't remember if they were the dreaded "assault weapons," or not. But even IF they were, the Klintoon AWB did not stop that CRIME, or ANY CRIME for that matter!
But then, most of us here know that stopping crime, and murder in particular, is not what they really want! They want a disarmed, passive, obedient population to govern over, no, make that to RULE OVER!
The days are getting short! Hopefully we'll be able to celebrate the death of the AWB next week!
Call, write, or E-mail our Senators again, just to keep them reminded!

Man, I almost exploded this morning. I was getting ready for work while my wife watched 'Good Morning America'. While brushing my teeth, I heard Diane Sawyer come on and interview an anti and an NRA spokeswomen. The anti went on and on about how these weapons of for military use only, and that it takes no skill to fire one and hit a target because they "spray 700 rounds per minute".

Then Sawyer asks the NRA rep why, "besides the Second Amendment", should anyone have or need an "assault weapon". The rep dispels the full-auto myth as a gun-grabber lie, and Sawyer got extremely irritated. She angrily asked why anyone would need a rifle that can spray bullets. Eventually, unsatisfied with the rep's response about the lies used, she cuts her off and ends the interview.

I found myself standing over the sink, toothbrush firmly gnashed between my molars. I went ahead and called Senator Allen and passed along my message through an aide of his. Lucky for Virginians, he is pro-gun. I tried calling Bush's message hotline, but it's busy. I'll have to try again.

I urge the rest of you to contact your politicians ASAP!

I am glad the bill is expiring, but I personally feel no matter who wins in Nov. the bill will be renewed eventually to the dismay of all 2nd. Amnd. supporters.
While there is no shortage of Congressmen/women who will try to renew the ban, we gun owners can fight back and win. The key is rallying people around not just us, but also the cause of American Liberty. There are plenty of Americans who are terrified of all things gun-related, but I believe most will use common sense if we help point them in the right direction.

Many of the people I've spoken to personally still think that the "assault weapon" ban covers full-auto rifles. The anti's lies have reached a great deal of well-meaning, although ignorant, people out there. It's up to us to speak the truth--that goes a long way when a third party considers two different positions.

I love the first part about columbine... the guns were illegal, and it happened anyway, so then I ask, what is the point of banning them for legal citizens??
