Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Clinton Call Leak Sabotaged Kerry

Panicked presidential candidate John Kerry had every reason to believe that the conversation he had with ex-president Bill Clinton on Saturday "“ where the two discussed how to rescue his flagging campaign "“ would be kept confidential.

But that expectation went up in smoke on Monday when Kerry and his campaign aides found explicit details from the Clinton strategy session splashed all over the New York Times and other media.

Among the most damaging details to surface: Clinton's strong recommendation that Kerry abandon the crown jewel of his presidential campaign "“ his service in Vietnam.
Kerry himself was plainly mortified over the leak, desperately trying to downplay the significance of the Clinton call by describing the ensuing press coverage as "the most overblown thing."

So, who was responsible for the loose lips?

The Times cited only "officials with knowledge of the Clinton conversation."

The Washington Post was no more helpful, sourcing "those familiar with the conversation."

What is known is that "those familiar with the conversation" include just three individuals: Clinton, Kerry and former Clinton press aide Joe Lockhart. And Lockhart later told reporters he wouldn't comment.

But somebody commented "“ and whoever it was certainly didn't seem to have Sen. Kerry's best interests at heart.

While we don't pretend to know exactly who it was who spilled the beans, one tidbit that crossed our desk last week offers a clue.

The day before Mr. Clinton entered the hospital for heart bypass surgery, the Associated Press reported:

"With the national political conventions out of the way, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton embarks Friday on a two-day swing with her husband, the former president, that has the trappings of a personal campaign kickoff.

"Sen. Clinton is gearing up for a 2006 re-election bid seen by many as a prelude to a run for president in 2008 should John Kerry fail in his bid for the White House this year."

Perhaps Sen. Kerry ought to think twice about answering the phone next time Mr. Clinton calls with fresh advice on how to save his campaign.

Somehow I knew that Kerry's campaign was just a red herring to set up Billery for a run in '08 , he just isn't bankable .

Now the strategy is clear , let Bush become a lame duck , then Billery runs against an open field instead of a popular President whom she has no chance of beating . If elected she can do what Slick Willy did in his term , take responsibility for the successes of the programs that the outgoing Republican began . The one fly in the ointment for her is that the Republicans will keep their noses clean , and after the campaign that ketchuphead is running the next President will also be a Republican .

As Hannity and other conservative commentators have pointed out, the Democratic Party is made up of essentially two blocks of Kerry voters. We have the roughly half that supports Kerry and his weak-kneed liberal leanings, and then the other half that wants anyone but Bush. The latter couldn't care less about Kerry so long as he is running against the President.

This says an awful lot about the Jackass Party, their ideals, and their agenda. They all know their message is weak, and they also know theirs is an uphill battle. I think a lot, as you've noted, as increasingly apathetic about the campaign. Why settle for Kerry when you can spend four years boosting Hillary's shot at the White House.

Frankly, I find that woman to be one of the most dangerous people in national politics. First of all, she has the "star power" of being a Clinton (even though we still have to admit that the Left is really in love with Bill). She breezed into New York and picked up a Senate seat with relatively no effort, and absolutely no roots in the state. When people vote on the name, and not the issues, the collective Right all suffer at the hands of Hollywood-type political glitter.

Second of all, she's a frickin' Liberal, as in the socialist sense. That is the last thing we need for the war on terror (it's going to be a while before we stamp out our enemies, and then we'll be faced with new groups trying to rise from the ashes of religious terrorism). Then there's the economy, welfare, and guns to top it all off. Blech!

And last of all, I really can't stand looking at or listening to her! Sure, there are more important things to consider when choosing a President (Bush didn't really get off to a good start in the speaking arena, and he's still working his way up the oratory ladder). But come on! She looks like a saggy Pillsbury Dough Boy, only a lot b*tchier, and with a butch haircut, and bloodcurdling voice. Argh!!!
