Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Bush Boosts Troop Morale?

Matt Lowre "(Mr. President) Do you think the war on terror is winnable?"

President Bush "No. I don't think its winnable."

I guess he said this to let our troops know how he feels about the war? Right?

So our troops are fighting an Un-Winnable war,,,,, huh? Interesting.[&:]

That comment had to be devastating to our troop's morale world wide.[:@]

Bush is an optimist, and he knows we will prevail. When I heard his response, I didn't take it as an outright admission of eventual defeat. It's clear that no matter how hard we fight, we will never manage to kill every single terrorist out there; extremism will always be a problem around the world. They've been fighting their holy wars for over a thousand years, and they don't surrender. So no, we can't win the war outright.

But we can fight these animals on their homefront, and we can beat them back so that they no longer have the abilities to wage wide-scale, coordinated attacks on us or our interests.

Al Qaeda and the other groups are like cockroaches--they breed and multiply rapidly, and some will manage to survive even as we try to exterminate them. But as long as we keep up the fight, they won't be able to sneak across our countertops and leave disease in our homes at their whim. Even if we can't "win", we can definitely give them a beating they won't soon recover from.

No need to make liberal-styl excuses for him. He's a man of his word!!

Said so himself!

He didn't even have a tele-prompter or Chenney at hand.

The Chinese have a saying:

"Never wake a sleeping dragon."

We are the dragon .

Listen, you can live in your leftist dreamworld you entire life if you want to. The simple fact that I gave my interpretation, and you promptly accuse me of "making excuses" shows how poor your understanding of politics is. If you want to spin everything to justify and further your hatred of Bush, so be it.

I, personally, would rather hear an intelligent argument come from you.

You can't read minds so don't try reading mine.

By the way, all you did was respond with spin. You doged the whole point of my post which was...

"How will this comment affect Troop Morale?"

Bush is either a man of his word or he isn't.

I can at least read the news. And don't think I don't know where you're coming from.

The point of your post was "Hur, hur, Bush is an idiot, see, here's proof!"

Go ask the troops. They are as sure of their mission as ever, and they stand behind their Commander-in-Chief. They continue to fight, and they continue to win. Enough said.

Bush said it. No color from the media there. It is what it is. He thinks the war is unwinnable. Some feel that point of veiw might help morale???? What a stretch even for spin doctors!!

Frost ,
the so called "war against terrorism" has been going on since man first stood upright , so from that perspective no it isn't winnable . You can't win any "war" if the "enemy" won't give up , Viet Nam taught us that . You apparently didn't grasp that lesson . I'd rather have a CIC who states facts leading me than some Frenchy butt kissing wannabe who will sell us to the UN if the price is right . Ask anybody on this board who just came from a combat zone who they'll be voting for , it won't be Lurch .
