The Shiites would have come out against us if we attacked Al Sadr as he hunkered in the shrine? I would have told them to keep him out of the shrine if they didn't want it attacked, and then sent a daisy cutter onto it if he remained there. This is BS that thugs like Al Sadr can start a fight, then retreat into a safe haven because they know we won't attack certain places. War is war. If the people don't want something attacked, it is their responsibility to keep it thug free.

Man alive... I'm all for putting the thump on them, but a BLU-82/daisy cutter (15,000lbs of explosives for those who are curious...) for a mosque is a little bit of overkill don't ya think! <Joke>

I DO believe we need to start pressing basic LOAC (Laws of Armed Conflict) rules here. They claim to have certain *protections* that are LOAC based, then we should start using the flip side of those rules... one of which is if they use a mosque for a hiding place and conduct combat operations FROM that mosque, then that place now holds NO significant value and can be attacked.
